To begin with, you'll need to discover your purpose. Are you here to write e-mail? Play
a Game? Research a topic? Chat live with others online? Get the news? Watch video?
No matter what your intentions, the first step is to find what you are looking for. The
best way to do that is to already have your address in hand and simply type it into the address bar, located at the top of
your browser(ie; Netscape Navigator, or Internet Explorer). After you have entered the address, either hit ENTER, or
click on the "Go" button.
"But...I don't have an address!", you exclaim, out of frustration, with only five seconds
into the lesson. It's OK! You don't need to know where you are going to find it on the internet.
What you need is a 'search engine'. The web is loaded with sites dedicated to finding
sites with pertanant information reguarding you interests.
As your instructor...I do have my own favorites. These include:
MSN
Go
And for mutimedia (pictures, sounds and music, and video), I couldn't ask for better than this
site:
Lycos
If you are interested in a complete list, with narrative about each, visit my portal page on the internet
by clicking: Welcome To, and go to the 'Search' page.
