   Martin, Agnes M. age 84 years of 23 High St., Dunbar died at 3:30pm March 25 1971 in the Uniontown Hospital. She was born in Dunbar November 7 1886 the daughter of the late Perry C. and Hannah McClain.  Surviving are four sons Perry Martin, Donald Martin, Robert Martin and Wayne Martin all of Dunbar two daughters Mrs. James (Jeannette) Russel of Lemont Furnace Mrs. Paul ( Elizabeth) Russell of Dunbar also  twenty grandchildren; fifty great-grandchildren one brother John B. McClain of New Genevas.  She was predeceased by husband Dennis I. Martin one daughter; one son seven sisters and two brothers.  Friends will be received at the Burhans Funeral Home Dunbar after 8pm this evening and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10pm Saturday where services will be held Sunday  at 2 pm with Rev. Cecil Dewitt officiating.  Interment in the Mt. Auburn Cemetery.

   McDowell Bradford W. aged 82 of LaBelle lifelong resident of Fayette county died Sunday night Aug 29 1937.  In the Uniontown Hospital after a protracted illness.  He was born un Dunbar on Dec. 29 1855 and was married to Phoebe Jane Martin of Coolspring in Oct. of 1876.  Mrs McDowell died 10 years ago. Of 11 children born to this union the six surviving are Mary Ann Childs, LaBelle, Phebe Clingan, Uniontown, Robert, High House, David, Brownsville; John, Philadelphia, and Oren of uniontown ; one sister  Sarah  Holland  of Dunbar; 28 grandchildren and 13  great grandchildren

   McClain, Hannah Connellsville July 26, 1921 died of a  complication of diseases at the home of her daughter Mrs. Hugh Carr of Ferguson road, Monday evening at 6:30 o'clock.  She was the widow of Perry McClain  and was well known in this community. Interment will be held in Mt. Auburn cemetery

   McClane Perry Dunbar May 30 1904 a veteran of the Civil war a respected citizen, died at his mountain home a few miles from this place Sunday night at 11:30 o'clock aged 60 years.  He had been ill for some time of comsumption and his death was not unexpected.  He was a member of Company I, Fourteenth West Virginia Infantry, and enlisted Aug. 16 1862. He served during the entire conflict and was honorably discharged June 28, 1865 Funeral from the M. P. church.  Interment at Auburn cemetery

  McClain Lois died at 3:45 am Saturday at the home of her son, Charles McClain of Smithfield Mrs McClain Civil war Veteran.  She was 82 years of age and was a resident of this community for about 66 years having  a wide circle  of friends here.  Surviving are the following children Mrs. Mary Kelly of Connelsville, Charles of Smithfield, P.C. McClain and James of Uniontown, Jesse McClain of Republic. Virginia McClain and Frank of Dunbar, Phillip of DuBois. Also surviving are 42 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Enoch Gurnsworth of Perryopolis, Mrs. Harriet Hart of Brownsvile, Mrs. Margaret Beeman of Wheeling, Frank Swope of Boswell and Ford Swope of Connellsville. The funeral will be held at Charles McClain of Smithfield home. Interment will take place in Mt. Auburn cemetery.

   Martin Mary Following a weeks illness, Mrs. Mary Martin, 61, of Dunbar, died Thursday night April 13 1936 at 11 o'clock in the Connellsville State Hospital.  Preceded in death six years ago by her husband , Reuben Martin, deceased is survived by the following daughters: Mrs Bessie Martin, Dunbar, Mrs. Harry Klink, Dunbar; Mrs. Wilbur Anderson, Dunbar; Mrs. Benjamin Beals, Dunbar, Mrs. Harry Bruher, Greensburg; Mrs. Joseph Hall, Jr. Dunbar; Mrs. Newton Lowry, Wheler.  A half brother, John Holland also survives. Burial in Mt Auburn

   McClain,  Mae Belle age 85 years, of 74 Lemon Wood Acres, died Monday, February 8, 1971 at 7:55 p.m. in the Uniontown Hospital. She was a member of Central Christian Church.  She was predeceased by her husband James in 1938.  Surviving are the following children, Ivadella Danals of Uniontown, Elmona Moody of Chestnut Ridge, Florence Van Dyke of Spanway, Wa.  James and John of Uniontown, Mrs. Richard (JoAnn) Franko of Uniontown, Also twenty three grandchildren, thirty great great grandchildren, one brother, Walter Ashton of Brownsville.  Also predeceased by a son Charles in 1943.  Friends will be received in the Edward E. Minerd Funeral Home  W. Main St.Wednesday from 7 to 9 Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Friday until 1 p.m. The hour of service with Dr. Karl P.    McDowell, Mary Ellen age 95 years of Spears Nursing Home, formerly of Uniontown, Pa. passed away Sunday, July 16, 1978 at 11:20 pm in the Uniontown Hospital.  She was born in Dunbar Twp. May 31, 1883, the daughter of the late Simeon and Belle Lena Ward Nelson.  She was a member of Dunbar Baptist Church.  Surviving are one son, Adam Boyd McDowell of Monaca, Pa. one grandson, Harry McDowell of Aliquippa, Pa. two great grandchildren, Carrie and William a sister Mrs. Annie Judy of Uniontown.  She was preceded in death by her husband.  Andrew McDowell in 1934 a son William Nelson McDowell in 1971: three sisters Missoura, Emma and Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Harper; six brothers , Charles , Grover Ewing, Clarence, William and Bert.  Friends will be received in the Edward E. Minerd Funeral Home, 196 W.    McDowell, Leona A. age 84 years of Uniontown, passed away Thrusday, Sept.28 1989 in Allegheny General Hospital.  She was born June 9, 1905 in Bethel Boro, Pa., the daughter of the late William Alexander and Lovina Catherine Boyd McDowell.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Adam, Irwin, Thomas, and Oran: also three sisters, Effie, Elzie, and Ina.  She was a member of the Central Christian Church, Pyramid Builders Sunday School Class, Ruth Leslie Circle, YMCA Auxiliary, Daughters of America, Union Grange, Fayette County Pomona Grange, Pa. State Grange and National Grange.  Surviving are several nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends in the Andrew D. Ferguson Funeral Home, 80 Morgantown St. Uniontown today from 2 to 5 pm and on Saturday until 11am the hour of service with Rev. W. Darwin Collins officiating.  Interment will follow in Percy Cemetery

   McClain, Pearl age 92 years of Lemont Furnance Pa., died Monday morning  September 12,  1983 at her home. She was born April 22, 1893 daughter of late William Harvey Holland and Sarah Jane McDowell Holland.  Surviving are one daughter Sylvia Williams of Uniontown; two sons Harold and David Eugene both of Lemont Furnance; 15 grand children and a a number of great grand children.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harry L. McClain, and a  three sons; one daughter; one brother and two sisters.  Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the Burhans Funeral Home, Dunbar, where services will be held on Thrusday at 1 pm. with paster Thurston Hassler, officating.  Interment in Franklin Cemetery, Dunbar

   McClain Willard H. age 60 of Dunbar RD#2 died in the Connellsville General Hospital on Friday afternoon, April 12, 1974. He was born  July 13. 1913   the son of Pearl McClain and  the late Harry L McClain. He was a veteran of WWII, and a member of the Mount Braddock Sportsmen's Club. Surviving  besides his mother are three daughters, Mrs. Walter (Mary) Baskobick of Uniontown; Mrs. James (Martha) DeBault, Jr. of North Ridgeville, Ohio; and Miss Bonnie at home; four sons Harry Williard, United States Navy, Norfolk, Virginia; Raymind United States Army, Fairmont, West Virginia; and William and David both at home; nine grand children; two brothers Harold of Lemont Furnance: and Eugene of Dunbar: one sister Mrs. Sylvia Williams of Uniontown; Preceding him in death were his father and one son.  Friends are being received in the Burhans Funeral Home, Dunbar.    McClain,  John W. age 90 years of New Geneva  died at his home Tuesday morning June 1, 1971 following a lingering illness.  He was born in Dunbar March 7, 1881 the son of the late Perry and Hannah Smitley McClain. He is survived by his wife Fannah H. McClain.  Friends are being received on the Burhans Funeral Home Dunbar where  services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday.  Rev. A.  Piper James age 19 years, of Mount Braddock was instantly killed Tuesday afternoon, January 6, 1926 at 3:30 in the furnace mine. Lower Tyrone Township by a fall of slate.  The youth was employed as a miner for 6 months.  He was making his home with a brother Ira. A brother Joseph of Florence. A brother Joseph Piper of Adison: and two sisters one of Melcroft: and Mrs. Ada Wadsworth of Mount Braddock also survive.  His parents are dead.  Funeral services will be held at the Wadsworth home in Mount Braddock.  Thursday afternoon at 1 O'clcok.    Piper, Wilbert E-age 67 years of Lemont Furnace died Tuesday Jamuary 14, 1966 in the Uniontown Hospital at 7 pm.  He was retired coalminer and a member of UMWA of Oliver local  6288 and of The Eagels #628.  He was preceded in death by his wife Pearl Piper in 1963.  He is survived by two sisters:Mrs. Hazel Andrews of Pleasant Hills. Pittsburgh, Pa; and Mrs. Olive Tanery of Jacksonville, Fla; one brother Ralph of Uniontown.  Friends will be received in the Edward E.   Piper, Silas W. aged 41 years of West Side Connellsville, who was found lying on the floor of his home Sunday morning with a gunshot wound of the right temple died at the Connellsville State Hospital, Monday morning June1, 1928; at 7:10.  Mr Piper a carpenter by trade, had been injured a little more then a year ago in a fall from a scalfold.  Mr Piper was born near Layton the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Piper and lived in Wheeler for the last 14 years.  besides his widow Mrs. Bessie Piper; five children survive They are: Mrs. G W Cunningham of Wheeler; Walter, Francis, Jean and Bessie all at home.  He has two brothers Fred Piper of Greenwood and Kenneth Piper and Emmett Piper of Wheeler; and the following sisters; Mrs. Florence Hagerman of Lower Tyrone township; Martha Boshart of Perryopolis; Carrie Sutter of Brownsville; Grace Shank of Mount Pleasant; and Hazel Piper of Point Marion.  Funeral services will be held in the home Wednesday afternoon at 2 followed by burail in the Bryan Cemetery near Dawson

   Piper, Rebecca Mrs. Nov 22--Mrs Rebecca Piper age 45, died at her home here Friday, November 19, 1909, of typhoid fever.  She is survived by her husband.  James Piper, and these children: Mrs. William Wadsworth.  Mrs. H. H. Bird, Clara, Birdle, Joseph.  Ira, Willis, Charles, and James.  She is also survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Hardy, and five sisters and two brothers.  The funeral was held Sunday

  Piper, Ira age 76, of R.D. 1 New Salem, died Monday , June 8, 1970 at 7 a.m. at the home of a sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bates.  The son of the lates James and Rebecca Hardy Piper, he was born at Dunbar November 17, 1893.  A retired coal miner, he was a member of the UMWA Clyde Local No. 688.  Surviving are the three sisters, Mrs. Albert Bates of New Salem, Mrs. Mary Wilson of Florida, and Mrs. Edna Younkin of Connellsville.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters.  Friends will be received in the Burhans Funeral Home, Dunbar today from from 7 to 10 p.m., Wednesday from 1 to 10 p.m. and until 2 p.m. Thursday, the hour of service with Rev. Ruth Masako officiating.   Interment will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery

  Martin  Dennis I Age 84 of Dunbar died suddendly Wednesday Jan 16, 1963 in his home.  Born Dec 2, 1878 in Dunbar son of Jasper and Elizabeth (Matthews) Martin.  He is survived by his wife Agnes M.  McClain Lottie Aged 84 of Cheat Neck road, died Monday afternoon January 13, 1964.  Born October 26, 1879 in Dunbar daughter of the late William and racheal (Hawk) Coleman.  She is survived by three sons Miles and Mont: Los Angles, CA: Ted: Morgantown WV: Two daughters Mrs Agnes Lebdasky,Morgantown, WV: Racheal Provance: Pt Marion, PA. eightteen grand children: one brother M B Coleman, Morgantown WV. Two half brothers Francis and Charles Coleman: Mt Independance: four half sisiters Mrs. Mae Gettamy, Rhonda Yauger, Elizabeth Lowden, and Violet Yaugerall from Lemont.   Friends will be ereceived in the Burhams Funeral Home Dunbar, where services will be held Rev William Camp will officate, interment will be in Mt Auburn Cemetery.

 McDowell James  Aug 30 1900.  james McDowell a well known citizen of this place, met with a hterbile death near Laughlin Station Wednesday night.  He took the evening Pittsburg train and went to the home of his sister, Mrs Widdop who lives near the tracks at Laughlin Station.  He left there shortly before midnight.  This was the last time he was seen alive.  His body was mangled so frightfully that identification was almost impossible.  A babbage check was found in one of his pockets.  It was taken to the B & O station Pittsburg and found to be unchecked from this place.  Comminication was opened with the B & O, agent at this place, and in this way his identity was established.  McDowell was aged 50 years and has a wife two sons and one daughter living in this place.

 McClain Perry James (Pete) aged 58 died at his home 411 Jefferson street, Connellsville February 12, 1950 at 10:45 pm following a lingering illness.  He was born in Dunbar July 9, 1891 the son of the late Mr and Mrs Perry J McClain.  He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. American Milton L Bishop post of Connellsville and a former member of th Eagles of Connellsville.  Surviving are his wife Katherine (Long) McClain of Connellsville. Interment in the Green Ridge Cemetery at Pennsville under direction of the McCormick Funeral Home.

 McDowell, Clyde Joseph  August 31, 1937 13 year old son of Mr and Mrs George McDowell of Coolspring road was fatally injured at 6 O'Clcok last evening when struck by a light truck driven by Atty Linn V. Phillips on Route 40 approximately one- half mile east of Hopwood.  The ninth highway fatility in Fayette County this month and the 33rd of the year, Occurred when the small truck in which Mr Phillips was attempting to pass a large moving van struck the NorthUnion Twownship school boy, inflicting injuries which caused his death while he was being rushed to the Hospital.  Young McDowell and a capanion Odis Pletcher 13 son of Roy Pletcher of Hopwood were walking along the side of the West slope of the Mountain, intent on getting some pears in an orchard above Hopwood.  The Pletcher youth was pushing his bicycle and McDowell was said to have  been walking a short distance ahead.

 Piper, Earl Engaged to be married at few days from now to Miss Isabelle Collingwood of Youngstown.  Earl Piper, age 26 of Lemont, early Saturday morning, December 11, 1926, was caught under a fall of slate in the Lemont No2 mine and instantly killed.  The marraige licence had already been taken out for the wedding.  Miss Collingwood had been employed by the Lemont Union Suply Store for two years and resigned last Saturday so that she could prepare for the wedding.  Earl was employed as night driver in the Lemont mine.  In some mannor a pit prop was knocked out this morning and the fatal fall resulted.  The young man is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs Edward Piper four brothers, Lawerence, Wilbert, Arthur and Ralph all of lemont:  two sisters Mrs. H J Tannery of Lemont and Mrs Frank J Andrews of Uniontown. Interment in Park Place cemetery.

 McClain, William aged 44 of Dunbar was killed this morning under a fall of slate at the Freeport No 2 mine of the American Madgenese Manufacturing Company, near Dunbar.  McClain was working by the side of his son George aged 18, when the fall came.  the latter was uninjured.  McClain was smothered to death before he could be dug out. In 1912 McClain's father met death on the railroad near Dunbar.  Deceased is survived by his wife Mrs. Jennie Mcclain and five children, John, George, Charles, Maxwell and Rose. His mother Mrs. Frank Idda. also survives as do four brothers and sisters, Phillip, Jesse, James and Charles McClain: Mrs. W E Kelly of Vanderbilt, Mrs W. S. Martin of Dunbar: Mrs. Maxwell Lincoln and Miss Virginia McClain
