SECOND GRAND REUNION

July 7, 2001

San Diego, California

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF DWCUAA

On behalf of the officers of the Divine Word College of Urdaneta (DWCU) Alumni Association, it gives me great pleasure to welcome each and everyone of you to our second grand reunion.  I congratulate all of you true blue Divinians who converged here tonight to once more rededicate yourselves to the ideals of our great Alma Mater.

High school days will always be part of our lives.  Every reunion is unique; it is an opportune time for us to recapture different aspects of our past as we reacquaint with old friends and classmates alike.  As we reminisce the past, we strengthen our ties and foster a stronger relationship with one another.  As we strive for better opportunities in life and face up to newer and bigger challenges, we come to bear that we all have shared a common bond in this struggle: that this journey took its foothold at the DWCU. And there is no denying the fact that it has been a part of not only what we are but also of whom we are.  We are all proud of our Alma Mater.

Staging an occasion like what we have tonight is a Herculean task.  Yet the enormity of the tasks left us unfazed and undaunted. Because of the dedication and hard work put forth by the officers of the Alumni Association, this event became a reality.  For this, I would like to thank all of our officers and members who worked with me through thick and thin to see this special occasion into fruition. To see all alumni, former staff members, as well as our guests in attendance tonight is a reward in itself for us. Truly, we have proven once more that unity and cooperation are the most vital attributes to any successful endeavor.

Let tonight be your special night.  Savor the memories.  Enjoy the music. God bless us all!

Sincerely,

Johnny S. Soriano

President
