Letter to Dr Lydia de Waal
14 December 1997

 Dear Dr. de Waal

As I have not heard any response from you to my last fax I can only assume that you do not have any problems with what I said. Since then I have changed a few things in terms of what I am doing and have found a solution to the question of insurance and security. I will provide for both.

I am about to print both the posters and invitations at great cost and need some form of assurance from you before I spend a great deal of money. I have spoken to Major Dup Martins and we have agreed that I will occupy the space inside the Fort. This includes all the space inside the gates. He will arrange his festivities on the area outside the actual Fort.

What I need at this point is your support and written guarantee that you will not interfere in any way with the work that I will be presenting, that you will respect my freedom of expression. Please could you give me this as soon as possible for I cannot begin printing the invitation without it, particularly in the light of the threat implicit in your last fax.

Yours Sincerely
Kendell Geers
