Disgraceful art display

AN art exhibition is to take place Fort Klapperkop in Pretoria. Paintings by Jamey Kendell Geers will be shown on the weekend of 17 and 18 and the proceedings  will include the hoisting of the Vierkleur, to be replaced by the Union Jack, which will be replaced by two flags designed by the artist.

On the second day, the artist will "occupy" the fort ,and the doors will be sealed shut after him.

According to a notice put out by the French Institute of South Africa, Geers will "close" Fort "Klapperkop "in the name
of art,"100 years to the day that it was opened by President Paul Kruger.

What has Fort Klapperkop got to do with the French Institute, which is sponsoring this "event" (which is called Guilty)?

Fort Klapperkop is a shrine to South Africa's fallen. I myself have attended a memorial service there for my nephew who died as a South African soldier in Angola.

Who gave permission for the French Institute to use this old fort as a show-case for its sick liberalism? Surely those Afrikaners who have a shred of self-respect left will do something about this travesty? Fort Klapperkop is part of Afrikaner history. Imagine the French allowing liberal South Africans to interfere with, and ridicule, French war memorials. It's an absolute disgrace and protests should be made to the French government.
