The ego of the Ed-boys!

"No teeth means no cash! And no cash means no jawbreakers!"
(from "Floss Your Ed")

Eddy is the leader of the Eds. He's the one who comes up with most of their usual scams throughout the cul-de-sac. Regardless of his shortness, he has the biggest ego than both his friends, with his loves being jawbreakers and money.

Eddy is the shortest of the Eds, and mostly everyone else in the cul-de-sac. It's probably his biggest pet-peeve. Whenever someone says that he's short, or anything similar, he tends to get very annoyed by it very easily. In "A Pinch To Grow An Ed," the beginning proves it; Eddy hates being short. Nonetheless, his pals, Ed and Double D don't seem to care about his height. Ed even says so (Ed: "But we like you short." - from "A Pinch To Grow An Ed"), but Eddy still has a bit of a sensitive side of himself being short. Let's move on; Eddy might not like it if I mention his short side of the bio.

Where do most of the Eds' scams come from? From Eddy, of course. Whenever a scam idea comes to his mind, he brings it to real almost immediatly. Whether the scam comes from himself, or he was just influenced, he still takes that he "comes up all the scams" he, Ed, and Double D pull around the cul-de-sac (as he says in "It Came From Outer Ed"). He does seem to do his best in the scams, even putting on some uniform to do his job, and with the usual fee being offered at 25 cents. Not all of the scams turn out as he would want it too, and with all the Eds' backfired scams, it's obvious that Eddy won't put his scheming mind at rest.

The reason why Eddy does all the scams is (obviously) to make some money. To him, money means everything. He even uses the old saying, "Time is money." in some of the episodes. He really does love money, and it seems no matter how much he gets; he just doesn't like having no money at all. Since he likes money a lot, it seems he knows about any expressions of names of money (cash, dinero, moolah, etc.), as seen in "Laugh Ed, Laugh." What does he do when he gets his hands on some bit of cash? Just . . .

. . . JAWBREAKERS!!! One big primary reason why Eddy loves money. The way I see it, it's like, "Eddy thinks of a scam, the Eds pull the scam off, and if someone falls for it, the Eds get cash, then exchange it for jawbreakers." It adds up perfectly; to Eddy that is. As soon as a jawbreaker hits Eddy's sight, he "would do anything for it" (as said in "Will It Work For Ed"). To Eddy, jawbreakers are the circle of life.

Eddy just doesn't like money and jawbreakers alone. The other two things he likes are attention and Nazz. Attention was set as a one-timer, showing in only one episode (so far) in "Cry Ed." It turned Eddy's usual route around from scamming for money. Instead, he tricked everyone else for a bit of attention. He wanted more than how much Jimmy was getting from everyone else. Even though he kept injuring himself (like getting a house dropped on him), then making himself the safest kid in the cul-de-sac (with "Eddy's-better-than-Jimmy's-play-safe" suit), he still craves for a bit of attention from everyone.

Eddy also likes Nazz. Whenever Eddy sees Nazz, he just "melts" from where he's standing (from "Pop Goes The Ed"), or tries to hold himself down (in "Dim Lit Ed"). Although, Eddy's not alone as Nazz's admirer; Kevin likes Nazz too, and in "Boys Will Be Eds," Eddy now knows how many of the boys in the cul-de-sac like Nazz, and he even sings to her at the window (which ended up to be Jimmy). If any Eddy lovers (like myself) tend to get a tad jealous, um, just think that's you instead.

And last but not least, Eddy and himself; in other words, his ego. Above all the rest, it's himself that he seems to like the most. He's mostly sort of the "appearance person." He thinks looks are the best, mostly that would apply to him, and he sometimes would put Goo-Dip hair gel, sunglasses, penciled-chest hairs (just like in "Pop Goes The Ed"), and basically anything that fits his definition of "cool." Even just cleaning up a car (he doesn't even know who owns it) makes him think he's the best from the rest. Being the noticable type of personality, he mostly wants to notice himself in his own reflection. In Eddy's mind, it seems to be saying "Me, myself, and I!" constantly, but he does have other stuff he likes; what I've mentioned here. The one thing he doesn't like - Kankers. Don't underestimate him; he's a little guy with big pride.
