ValEDDtine's Day
by: the Cuties

"What are you going to do this week Double D?" asked Eddy, as he walked with Ed and Edd. "Oh, I don’t know Eddy," Edd said, "Why do you ask?" "Don’t you know?" Eddy asked him with some frustration. "It’ll be Valentine’s Day soon!" Eddy shouted. "Valentine’s Day is this week!" Edd said, suprisingly, "Oh my! And I still need to get cards for our class!" Edd ran to the store, waving Ed and Eddy good-bye. "Where did Double D go Eddy?" Ed asked. "To go look for his cards Ed," Eddy said. "Why?" Ed asked. "Just come on Ed," Eddy said, "We still have to get our Valentine’s Day cards done. Valentine’s Day is in 5 days." "Okay Eddy," Ed said, and followed Eddy.

At the store, Edd was searching for a box of Valentine’s Day card. "Hi Double D!" said Gloria. "Oh hi Double T," Edd said with a smile, "where are Clare and Sarah?" "Oh, they’re in the store looking for Valentine’s Day cards," Gloria answered, "Do you want to go look for them with me?" "Um, okay," Edd said, "I’m also here searching for cards. Come on." Edd and Gloria looked around for Clare and Sarah.

Within a few minutes, they found them. "Hi girls," Edd said, waving his hand and smiling. "Hi Double D!" Clare and Sarah said in unison. "Are you looking for cards too?" Edd asked. "Why yes we are," the Cuties said, "Are you?" "Yes," Edd mumbled shyly, "even though it is a bit late for it." "That’s okay Double D," Sarah said, walking up to Edd. "Yeah," Clare said coming up from behind and nearly hugging Edd. "We’re all looking for cards," Gloria said, looking as lovely as she can, "Come on. You can help too." "That’s a great idea Double T!" Clare exclaimed, "Come on and help us!" "Please Double D!" Sarah said, making a puppy dog face in front of Edd. "Okay," Edd finally said. The 4 soon started to look throughout the store for the best Valentine’s Day cards.

Meanwhile, Ed and Eddy were finishing up their cards. They each had their own cards. Ed had cards that had Christmas pictures in it, saying, "Merry Christmas!" on it. Eddy had his own cards, which he always wanted. It had money pictures, with a small money holder inside it. On the card, it said, "No amount of money will equal our love." "Except my love for money," Eddy said to himself. Ed and Eddy were nearly done. "Just one more . . . " Eddy said, finishing the last card, "There! Finished!" He held up the card, and he smiled at it, as if it was the love of his dreams. "What about you Ed?" Eddy asked. Ed didn’t answer. "Um, Eddy?" Ed asked, "How do you spell ‘Valentine’?" "V - a - l - " Eddy said, turned around, and screamed, "-Ed!" Eddy saw a mountain of cards, still to be done. Ed was still on his first card. Eddy growled, and said, "Ed! You are still on your first card!" "Not my first Eddy," Ed said, then held up another card, that was done in bad spelling, "It’s my 2nd one." "But these aren’t even real Valentine’s Day cards!" Eddy said, holding a bunch of cards in his hand, "These are just Christmas cards!" Eddy then had to get more Valentine’s Day cards for Ed, and they went to work on it.

On the way back from the store, Edd and the Cuties walked back to the cul-de-sac together. Edd was holding the bag of cards. "Let me hold it for you Double D!" the girls said all together. The Cuties soon began to fight for the bag, trying to impress Edd. "Girls!" Edd said, trying to stop them, "Calm down. I’ll hold the bag, okay?" "Okay," the girls said, "We’re sorry." "Aww," Edd said, "That’s okay. I know that you girls love me, but it’s no need to be competitive over me." "But Double D," Gloria said, "Who do really love?" The Cuties all looked at Edd for the answer. Edd became all nervous. "I . . . uh," Edd stammered, "I love all of you girls." Edd smiled. "Hopefully you love me," Clare and Sarah said. "Double D loves ‘us,’" Gloria said. "Well, yeah," Edd said. Gloria started to walk. Sarah and Clare, who were left with Edd behind her, went over to Edd, and tried to hug him. It was like that all the way back home.

In the cul-de-sac, Edd went in his house. "Good night girls," Edd said, and close the door. The Cuties were still outside, waiting at his door. "Double D!" Sarah shouted, "Come back outside!" Edd didn’t answer. "How do we get his attention?" Clare asked. Gloria thought of a way. "Hmm . . . " Gloria said, thinking up an idea. Clare and Sarah were also thinking of an idea. "I’ve got it!" said Clare, "All we do, is throw small rocks at his window, and he’ll answer us." "Seems good to me," Gloria said. "Come on," Sarah said, pointing to a few small rocks nearby, "These will be perfect!" The Cuties smiled, and gathered a few rocks. They started to throw them at his window. Edd opened the window. One of the rocks accidentally hit his head, but it didn’t hurt him. Only enough to say, "Ouch!" Edd looked down and saw the Cuties outside, waving their hands and shouting joyfully, "Double D! Come down!" "I can’t right now girls," Edd said, "I’m working on my cards." "Can we come up and help you?" Sarah asked. "Of course," Edd said, "Hold on!" Edd went back to the door, and as he was about to unlock the door, he said to himself, "Alright Double D. Stay calm. It’s just the door." He unlocked it, and as he turned the doorknob, just barely a second, the door burst open. The door nearly landed on Edd. It was the Cuties.

"Why do you always do that?" Edd asked. "Oh," Gloria said, "It’s just because we love you," Clare and Sarah said. "That’s right," Gloria agreed. "Let’s go work on those cards now," Edd said, changing the subject of the Cuties’ love for him. They went to Edd’s room, all clean as usual. "Why do you keep your room so clean Double D?" Sarah asked. "Oh, it’s . . . a . . . hobby of mine," Edd answered. "Does that include labeling the room too?" added Clare. "Yes," Edd said.

Edd divided the cards, and handed them to the Cuties. All 4 of them were working. A few minutes later, the doorbell rang. "I’ll get it," Edd said. He went outof the room, and answered the door. It was Ed and Eddy. "Oh hi guys!" Edd said, "Are you here to help me with my cards too?" "Yeah right!" Eddy said carelessly, "We just worked on Valentine’s Day cards that Monobrow here, didn’t do. He was working on Christmas cards instead. Do you have any spare ones?" "Well, I don’t know," Edd said, thinking if he did have enough, "We can go see. Come on." Edd led them to his room. Ed and Eddy were suprised at Edd. "Double D!" Eddy surprisingly said, "What did you do?!" "What are you talking about Eddy?" Edd asked, looking at the room. Nothing appeared to be wrong. Ed was also surprised. "Extra gravy Double D!" Ed said. "What is wrong with my room Eddy?" Edd said. "You have the Cuties in your room Double D!" Eddy whispered, not letting the girls hear. "So?" Edd asked. "You NEVER let girls in your room!" Eddy said, "But you went soft and let them come in?!" Edd didn’t know what to say. He went up to his pile of Valentine cards, divided it in half, and gave it to Ed and Eddy. Ed and Eddy then left. "What’s up with Double D?" Eddy asked. "Um," Ed thought, "Maybe the real Double D got stuck in an alternate universe and the 6-eyed aliens made a clone of him, and is being replaced!" Ed then ran back to his house, screaming, with Eddy trailing behind. "Ed!" Eddy yelled, "Wait up!"

Ed and Eddy met some of the kids in the cul-de-sac. "What are you dorks doing?" Kevin asked. "Nothing," Eddy answered. "We were on our way home to finish these cards," Ed said, holding up some of the Valentine’s Day cards, "Double D gave them to us, because he forgot to finish them." "Well, that was nice of him," Nazz said. "I should get Double-Edd-boy a Valentine for his kindness," Rolf said, and went to get something in his house.

Nearby, across from the cul-de-sac, 3 pairs of eyes were watching. It was the Kankers. "So," Marie said, "It seems that Double D is nicer to girls now." "Yeah," May agreed, "That must mean that Ed’s like that too. Look!" May pointed at Ed who was giving out a few cards to some of the kids. "If those two are soft," Lee said, "Then that means that means, Eddy must be that way too." The Kankers gave a loving sigh. "Let’s go see them," Lee said. They went over to the cul-de-sac to meet the Eds.

"Oh yeah!" Sarah said, nearly forgetting to tell the other 3. She rummaged in her school bag, and pulled out a flier. "What’s that?" asked Clare. Sarah gave it to Edd. Edd scanned through it. "Well Double D," Gloria asked, "What does it say?" "Well," Edd started, keeping his eye on the paper, "It states, ‘Anyone between the ages, 12-16 is cordially invited to attend a Valentine’s Day Dance on Valentine’s Day in the PCS (Peach Creek School) gymnasium. Only $1.50 admission." "Really?" the Cuties asked, very excited. "I can’t wait for that to come!" Gloria said, joyfully. "I wish it was tonight," Sarah said, imagining of the dance. "Yeah," Clare agreed, "That would be cool." The Cuties all smiled, and pictured the dance. Edd became a bit nervous. "I can imagine the dance too," Edd mumbled. He pictured it as a little competition of him and the Cuties. Then he thought of something. "What if the Kankers found out about it?" Edd asked to himself. The Cuties then noticed Edd’s worried face. "What’s wrong Double D?" they asked. "A lot!" Edd said, tearing up. "But Double D," Clare said, "What’s there to be worried of?" "It’s about the school-" Edd said, sniffling, not finishing his sentence. "What about it?" asked Sarah. "Yeah," Gloria said, "We all know you are smart, and that you do your homework. So you don’t need to worry about your homework credit." "No," Edd said, "It’s not that. I’m just stressed out about the school dance." The Cuties thought of it. "Why?" they asked, "Is there something wrong with it?" "Well," Edd began, and he told them why. "We wouldn’t do that Double D," the Cuties assured, "And we bet that the Kankers won’t even know about it." "Okay," Edd said, feeling a bit better, "Just don’t fight over me, okay?" "No," Sarah said, "We won’t." "Yeah Double D," Clare said, "We can just have a . . . ‘group date.’" "That can work," Gloria said, "That way, we won’t ‘fight’ over you." All 4 of them agreed, and finished up the rest of the cards.

"Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!" Ed and Eddy screamed, running back to their houses. "Come back boys!" the Kankers called out, chasing the 2 Eds. Soon, Ed and Eddy were cornered. "Hey guys!" Lee said. "You want to have your Valentine’s Day gift now?" May teased. Ed and Eddy just whimpered and yelled for help. "I take that as a ‘yes’ girls," Marie said. The Kankers went up to the 2 Eds, with Ed and Eddy screaming.

A few days later, it became Valentine’s Day. "Boy," Edd said, to himself, as he walked to school, "Does time fly! It‘s Valentine‘s Day already!" For some reason, he smiled. On his way, he met the Cuties, who were waiting for him. They started to run up to him. "Hi Double D!" they called out, running up to him, and nearly bumping into him. In fact, they did. "Hi girls," Edd said. They all got up. "Can we walk with you to school today, Double D?" the Cuties asked. "I don’t know," Edd joked, "‘Can’ you?" The Cuties got the joke, and said, "‘May’ we walk with you?" Edd nodded, and the 4 of them walked the rest of the way.

On their way, they saw Ed and Eddy. "Hi Ed! Hi Eddy!" Edd called out. "Hi Double D!" Eddy called back. "Good bye Double D!" Ed called out. Edd and the Cuties went up to them. "So Double D," Eddy teased, "It seems that you must be this year’s Casanova, right?" Edd was speechless, and soon his face was as red as his shirt. Ed laughed. "Look!" Ed said, pointing at Edd’s face, "Double D’s blushing." "That means it’s true," Clare said. "Yeah," Sarah agreed. "Double D is our Casanova," Gloria said.

They all laughed the rest of their way.

Later on at the school, the teacher made the announcement, "Ok everyone. As you all know, it’s Valentine’s Day today. So, there will be no homework tonight." "Yay!" the class cheered. Edd frowned and said to himself, sarcastically, "Oh great. No homework." "Anything wrong Double D?" the Cuties asked. "No," Edd answered, not letting the Cuties that he likes to do homework, "I’m okay." "And that you all know that there will be a Valentine’s Day dance tonight," the teacher continued, "So, get a partner, and come in. See you tonight." Then the dismissal bell rang. Everyone came running out of school. Together were the Eds and the Cuties.

"Hey Eds!" Gloria said. "You guys want any partners?" asked Clare. "Yeah," Sarah agreed, "Because we need partners." The Cuties smiled, and the Eds agreed to meet them in the center of the cul-de-sac.

That evening, the Cuties got themselves ready for the dance.

Meanwhile, the Eds, dressed casual, except for Edd. He was dressed up in a tuxedo suit. "What’s taking them so long?" Eddy asked. "Maybe they’re with Double D, Eddy," Ed said, not realizing that Edd is there with them. "Ed," Eddy said, "Double D’s right here." Eddy pointed to where Edd was, not looking at him.
"No he’s not, Eddy."
"Oh yeah? Then who is it?"
"No one Eddy. Look."
Eddy looked at who he was pointing to where Edd was. Edd wasn’t there! "Where’d he go?" Eddy asked, searching around. "Look," Ed said, pointing at a small note on the ground. Eddy picked it up, and skimmed through it. "What does it say Eddy?" Ed asked. Eddy read it to him.

"Guys, I’ve decided to go on ahead to the dance. I’ll just meet you guys there. Edd."

"Hey guys!" the Cuties said. Ed and Eddy looked at them. They were all dressed up so pretty, that made Ed and Eddy seem "small," because of them wearing casual clothes. The Cuties didn’t seem to mind it though. They soon noticed that Edd wasn’t there. "Where’s Double D?" Sarah asked. "Yeah," Clare agreed, "Where did he go?" "Guys?" Gloria asked Ed and Eddy, hoping that they would have an answer. "Uh," Eddy began, "Double D-" Suddenly, Ed interrupted him, "-got stuck in another dimension on his way here, and is now in a foreign outside planet, with the bacon men who are trying to make him-" "Calm down Ed!" Eddy yelled, "Don’t you remember about the note that Double D left us?"

Ed thought about it.

"Sticky note Eddy," Ed said. "What note Eddy?" the Cuties asked. Eddy gave them the letter. The Cuties read it. "Oh no!" they called out, wishing that Edd would have at least waited for them, "Come on girls! We need to go catch up with our Double D!" The Cuties then ran all the way to the dance, with Ed and Eddy running after them.

Meanwhile, Edd was still walking his way to the dance. He started to feel lonely and a bit cold. He sighed and said, "I think that I should have waited up for them." He covered himself up with his jacket, and continued walking. "It’s frigid out here," he said to himself, "It must be at least 40° out here." He walked some more, and in about a few minutes, he heard something coming up to him. Edd began to worry.

Suddenly, before he know it, he was on the ground. "Hi Double D!" said 3 loving voices. Edd then knew who they were. "Hi girls," Edd greeted. The Cuties got off Edd. They thought that Edd was mad at them, and they made a sorry face at him. Edd dusted himself off, but wasn’t mad at the Cuties. "That’s okay girls," Edd said, "It’s much better than being alone out here." Edd then realized that Ed and Eddy weren’t with them. "Where’s Ed and Eddy?" "They’re just behind us," the Cuties said. When they were about to go on ahead, Ed and Eddy finally reached them. They all went on ahead to the dance. Edd then felt much better, not being alone.

At the dance, the Eds and the Cuties danced and had the best time. Edd had the most dances. Ed and Eddy also danced since they had their own dates at the dance. Outside, Edd stood out on the balcony. The Cuties saw him, and followed him outside. The 4 of them stood together outside. To the Cuties, it seemed like a really romantic night, perfect on Valentine’s Day. "How did you feel about this year’s Valentine’s Day girls?" Edd asked them, as if he was in love with the Cuties, and he smiled. The Cuties blushed. "Well," Clare shyly said, "I loved it." "Yeah," Sarah continued, blushing by what Edd said, "This year was great." "We all loved this year’s Valentine’s Day Double D," Gloria continued, "We love this holiday as much as we love you." The Cuties smiled at Edd, and Edd smiled back. "I love you girls," Edd said. The Cuties have been waitng for that response from him. The Cuties hugged Edd, and kissed him. Edd kissed each of them too. "Happy Valentine’s Day girls," Edd said. "No Double D," the Cuties corrected, "Happy ‘Val-Edd-tine’s Day Edd." The 4 of them laughed, and enjoyed the rest of the Valentine’s Day dance.
