received several inquiries on movie actress, Betsy Brantley as
to how she may be kin to us. Recently we made contact with her
brother, Jack Brantley, of Atlanta. After extensive research,
we found that she is a descendant of Horatio Brantley of Bibb
County, Georgia. Horatio was the son of Joseph Brantley and his
wife, Dolly Moreland. These were descendants of Benjamin
Brantley (d 1841) of Hancock County, GA. Benjamin's Bible
record was located about 1993".

*Update: 2007. DNA testing has now proven
that this Benjamin Brantley of Hancock County (b ca 1764) was
the son of Benjamin Brantley (b abt 1730) who went to Wilkes
County, Georgia in 1784 from Chatham Co, NC. Thus we now
have this lineage back to Edward Brantley of 1638.
