Stephanie ans Haley's Egg Shoes

Intro:
This project teaches students the difference between Force and Pressure.  Students are asked to design shoes to achieve minimum pressure on the eggs that they walk on.  Many ingenious designs came from students of ages 14 to 17.  All students have fun with this contest.  Once it was even reported in the ABC news.

Purpose:
Design shoes so that you can step on an open carton of 18 eggs.

How we made our shoes:
1) we took a piece of foam the size of an 18 egg carton
2) we glued foam core board to it, so there would be something hard to keep it stable that we could put our foot on
3) then on the other side of the foam we put another type of foam that is more sturdy and not very thick
4) we stuffed cotton balls and hunks of foam in between a fleece fabric and the bottom of the shoe
5) we put velcro around the whole show to keep it on our foot
