Flip Flops Mike has done!

Mike has only flipped flopped on a few issues. And he flipped flopped because he changed his mind, not to get votes.

English as the only language of Arizona government.

When they came out with an amendment to the Arizona Constitution to make English the only language used by the Arizona government Mike was all for it. Mike though it would reduce the government cost of printing.

And after all if you move to an English speaking country you should learn the language spoken by the government.

At the time Mike did have an alternative to English as the official language of the State of Arizona. That was make all the native Indian languages of the people whom the government stole the land from and also make them the officials language of the State of Arizona.

Mike always has been aware of the great injustices that occurred when the Europeans stole this land from the native Indians.

At the time Mike was not aware that Spanish used to be the official language of Arizona. After all Arizona was part of Mexico until the Mexican American War when the American government invaded and conquered Mexico. At the end of that war the Americans pointed a gun to the Emperor of Mexico and forced him to sign the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo which gave the U.S.A. a large chunk of northern Mexico at a dirt cheap price of $15 million. That included all of Arizona north of the Gila River, along with parts or all of California, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico.

Later on the U.S.A. would buy the rest of Arizona from the crooked Mexican ruler Santa Anna in the Gadsden Purchase. A large chunk of the $10 million the U.S.A paid Mexico for that went directly into President Santa Anna pockets, not the Mexican treasury!

So with that in mind the official language of Arizona, if it were to have one should at least be the languages of all the native Indian tribes we stole the land from, Spanish, and last but not least English.

Of course when Mike became a Libertarian Anarchist his view on government changed 100%. Now Mike thinks that any government that uses force to rule, like the current Arizona and U.S. government is wrong. So Mike would get rid of the government, making an official language a moot issue.

The Martin Luther King Holiday

The issue is not weather Martin Luther King is a great person who has done a lot to advance the cause of Black people, he has. The issue is do the government nannies that micro-manage our lives deserve an extra paid day off each year.

Mike was totally against the Arizona Martin Luther King Holiday. After all Mike doesn’t think the government rulers who micro-manages our lives and steal our money deserve even a once cent raise in pay much less and extra fully paid day off.

Mike thinks all of these government employees are just parasites who suck blood from the rest of us like leaches.

Mike has flipped on this issue 100 percent. Mike now thinks that it would be ideal if all the government rulers, employees were given 365 days a year off (366 days off in leap years).

Mike radical change on this is because the less time these government nannies are at work the less they can micro-manage our lives and steal our money.

If these government parasites were give 365 days a year off their would be no government, because these parasites would be off all the time.

Splitting Maricopa County into two counties.

Mike always was against the plan to split up Maricopa County into two smaller counties.

While the government nannies always come up with a bunch of wonderful reasons on why it would be a good idea.

In the past Mike always saw the plan for what it was – a jobs program to create more jobs for high paid government nannies. Government nannies like the Maricopa Board of Supervisors, Sheriff Joe and all the other high level county rulers that micro-manage our lives.

If you split Maricopa County into two counties all of a sudden you will have twice as many of these jobs existing. And room for a bunch of lower ranking government parasites to get bigger higher paying jobs in the new county.

While Mike still holds true on that believe he attended an interesting debate held by the Goldwater Institute in Phoenix. Some folks from Reason Magazine put on some very good arguments for smaller government. Even though you will have twice as many highly paid government nannies, the folks from Reason Magazine said that with smaller government you will tend to have less waste and less government. One example they gave was the Los Angeles School District. It is a huge district, but it is a huge government waste land that mostly benefits t he government rulers that run it. They compared it with much smaller school districts that are much better run.

Also smaller governments are much more accountable to the people. If you have a county with 4 million citizens it is almost impossible to recall an unpopular ruler. But if you have a county with a 100,000 citizens and an unpopular ruler pisses off enough people it is fairly easy to get enough angry people to sign a petition to recall the ruler.

Based on the alone Mike now thinks instead of splitting Maricopa County into two super counties, we should split it into 10,000 counties with 500 citizens in each county.

With a county of only 500 citizens it would be very easy to recall any county supervisor or government nanny that raised taxes or treated the citizens like serfs. Mike is raring to split Maricopa County into his dream world of 10,000 counties.

Hell with a county of only 500 people who needs recalls. With a county that small it would be very easy to get a group of your fellow citizens and find a long rope and street light to string up any elected official that raises taxes. We would finally have some justice in American with that!

DUI, DWI, Drunk Driving

First of all I think that when you drive when you’re drunk or stoned it is very STUPID. You’re endangering your life and the life of other people! But I don’t see anything wrong with getting drunk or stoned and not driving.

When I was grew up I was brainwashed by the government and government schools to think that drunk driving was a very serious crime that should be severely punished. I have flip flopped on that issue for a number of reasons.

The main purpose of DUI enforcement seems to be to raise money for the government, not make the roads safer. That is the main reason I have changed my stance on DUI.

When DUI was invented the standard was .15. And at .15 many or even most people are actually drunk. For me that is 4 ½ beers and I am buzzed. I would certainly not drive after drinking that much.

When I grew up the standard was lowered to .10, not because all the states chose to lower it for safety standards, but because the Feds gave the states money to lower it. At that standard I was legally drunk after drinking 3 beers, which I think is border line

Since I grew up the Feds again have paid the states money to lower the DUI standard to .08, which certainly to me is not drunk! It takes me just two beers to make me legally drunk at this standard.

For many petite woman who weigh in at 100 pounds or less this means they are legally drunk after one drink. I remember when skinny Paris Hilton got busted for DUI and she complained she only had one margarita. She was probably telling the truth; with her small body it only takes one drink to make her legally drunk.

I know a Libertarian in Tucson who is also a public defender. He tells me people are regularly arrested for DUI when they are sleeping it off in their car! They go to sleep in their car out side a bar and then the cops arrest them for DUI. The logic the police use is that even if they are sleeping in the car, not driving it they are guilty of DUI because they are “in control of the car”.

By “in control of the car” the cops mean the person had the keys to the car in their pocket. What rubbish. The key here is it is all about revenue.

Prior to this year a simple DUI bust the government would shake you down for $1,000 in fines, and an aggravated DUI bust the cities would shake you down for $2,000 or more. That has gone up. Now for a simple DUI they shake you down for closer to $2,000 and aggravated DUI they can steal up to around $8,000 from you. DUI is all about raising money for the government. And at its face value it sounds like it is politically correct and removing dangerous people from the streets. Well when you look at the facts it is not removing dangerous people from the streets, but instead removing the money from the wallets of many people who only drank 2 or 3 beers and then get shaken down for a $1,000 plus fine!

Yes drunk drivers do cause accidents and sometimes fatal accidents which is bad. But if the problem was as bad as the government makes it out hundreds of people would be dying every weekend as a result of drunken driving and that isn’t the case.

Drunk drivers are demonized by the government so the government can use them as a boggy man to raise revenue!

And how do cops find drunk drivers? Well since the .08 standard is ridiculous low it is almost impossible for cops to identify drunk drivers. So cops become corrupt and make excuses to stop people. Well you swerved one inch so that gives me probable cause to pull you over.

If the person doesn’t smell like booze the cop releases them, which means another person has been stopped illegally with out probably cause in the witch hunt to raise DUI revenue.

If the person smells like booze then the cop runs a breathalyzer test on them to seem if they can hit the magic .08 limit and raise another $1,000 plus for the government rulers!

Cops also use a lot of tricks to get DUI convictions. Susan Sanchez a Phoenix public defender says one trick they use is to ask a quest “How drunk are you on a scale of 1 to 10”. Most people answer a low number because they don’t consider themselves drunk.

But the question is rigged! The only correct answer is zero! An answer the cop didn’t give you when he asked the question. The reasoning is because under Arizona law you are considered legally drunk at the SLIGHTEST impairment.

So if you answered “ONE”, then in a court of law you have admitted to being legally drunk and the cop will use that in court against you to almost certainly get a conviction, or get you to do a plea bargain and pay a few hundred dollars in fines.

Now with that in mind does it sound like the cops are removing dangerous people from the streets, or using the DUI laws to raise revenue? I think the answer is obvious, the DUI laws are used to raise revenue!

You would think it was outrageous if the government made it illegal for you to drink in your home right! You own your home so you should be able to drink in it? Of course if you cause someone damages that is in your home while you’re drunk you should pay them for the damages? Right?

The same should be true for the highways. You own the highways right! You paid tax dollars to build them! So if you want to drink and drive it should be legal. After all you’re the owner of the highway.

And if you cause an accident while you’re on the highway that you own either for some other reason or because of your drinking, then you should pay the person you damaged for the damages. Right?

So while I think it is really stupid to drink and drive, I still think you should have the right to drink and drive. After all you own the highway!

Supporting Government

The biggest flip flop Mike did was going from supporting government to becoming an anarchist. And it only happened in a few seconds.

Like most American Mike attended the government run public schools where he was brainwashed to believe that government was always fair and just and more importantly that government was needed.

Mike attended his first Libertarian Party meeting in Long Beach, California in either later 1994 or early 1995.

A nutshell view of Libertarian views which can pretty much sum up the party’s position on any issue is that it is “wrong to initiate force or fraud against another person”. With that statement you can see that taxes are wrong because the government uses force to take them from a person.

Mike’s first question at that meeting was “Who is going to pay for roads and schools in this Libertarian world?”.

Mike was told the Libertarian answer was that “People who wanted roads and schools would pay for them.”

That answer was what made Mike shift from being a person who supports the state to an anarchist who thinks that any government that rules by force is wrong.

Mike had a second question to ask at that meeting. But he didn’t ask it. He had already been given the answer. Mike’s second question was going to be “Who will pay for cops and courts”. Well DUH! The answer is “People who want cops and courts!”.

While Mike changed his views instantly at that meeting he did think about this for around two years before he realized that a Libertarian government is the only right moral government.
