I really liked this movie, and can even remeber being taken to see it when it first came out at the movies in New Zealand. But, then, I've always liked Mel Gibson :) and we certainly get to see him without his short on quite often.
But be warned, Liam only has a very small part in the film. He is isn't on screen much, even though the film is around the 1 1/2 - 2 hour mark. And his character is one of the mutineers who decides to stay on with the island, rather than go with Fletcher Christian and the Bounty. For some strange reason he doesn't look as good, as he usually does - his hair is more than a little ratty for starters.
Which is very disapointing, of course. Mind you, most of the male actors get to walk around without their shirts on. Which makes intertesting watching, espically if you like watching Mel Gibson, as well as Liam.
The only other probelm I have with movies like this, is knowing exactly what's going to happen to the characters. Knowing exactly how it works out in the end, but that's the same for everyone unfortuntly. I'm one of those people, who thinks movies loose something, if you know everything that's going to happen. (Admittly, is why I never go into the plot of any of the movies I review in any great detail).
But, I still liked this movie. It's certainly one of the more watchable based on real life films, I've seen. But, if you're only seeing it, because of Liam, it would make the movie more enjoyable if you liked Mel Gibson to some extent. Simply because he dominates the whole movie, while Liam hardly gets a look in *sigh* :)
