This is one of Liam's earlest movies and one of his best. It is essentially plotless as it just follows the two main characters try to escape from their real lives. They escape to London, have a lot of little things happen to them, before they go back to Irland. And that's about it, plot - wise.
Normally I *hate* movies like that, but this is one of the few movies like that which actually works well. Certainly it works well enough, to make the lack of plot ignorable. The parts were they had to move into a squart, after running out of cash, was my defintly my favourite. With some of the more intertesting characters in it.
Admittly in a lot of my film reviews I will pick the movie apart, even when I liked it. But there are surprisingly fews things wroung with this movie. Liam was as wonderful as usual. The lack of any real plot is barely noticable, as the rest of the movie easily makes up for it. And the only part I really didn't like was the surprise ending. Don't worry, I'm not going to tell you why I didn't like the ending beyound saying that the movie had been so hopefully to then...... and then *sigh*.
Defintly one of Liam's better movies, but not quite in the top group though. (BTW
the photo of Liam in the full priests outfit on the main movies page is from this
movie).
