Jolt the Squirrel

Jolt is another one of my "older" Sonic-universe characters--like Electra, she was originally created in 1996 and meant to be her sidekick in game terms, sort of her "Tails" to Electra's "Sonic" if you will. But she's evolved a bit since then. She has...erm....developed...a rather surly personality all her own and could never be ANYONE'S sidekick now; she has too much disdain for authority and prefers to just wander about and do whatever she wants. It's half-rebel, half laziness...but she is DEFINITELY no longer Electra's sidekick. They are still friends, but frankly I have no idea HOW, and the only two people more confused about the relationship are Jolt and Electra themselves!
Jolt is only 12 but already acts like a typical jaded, bored, unimpressed-with-everything teenager. She is PURPLE. You heard me, purple. Kind of a bright thistle colour with a darker stripe on her forehead, and a darker stripe on her tail. (She looks like one of those brown squirrels rather than a grey one, only in shades of purple instead.) She has pale blue eyes. She is very very short, even for her age, and people often take her as younger than she is--until she opens her mouth. She COMPLETELY talks like a stereotypical teenage girl. In fact, she's a bit of a "Valley Girl". For example, if she was visiting Lava Reef, her reaction would be, "Oh, great, I just got my hair done, now I'm gonna get all SWEATY!"
Unlike so many of the other "Sonic-universe" characters, she is NOT dispossessed, lost, alone, orphaned or poor--she is a spoiled little rich-girl from a wealthy family, and she always wears whatever the very very latest styles are. Despite this, however, she will occasionally go adventuring and do brave things anyway. Mainly because it honks her parents off--she feels a bit stifled by them, but hey, bravery is bravery...
However, while she's doing those brave things, she's likely to keep complaining about the lack of decent clothing stores or cute guys until you want to punch her in the face. But her special abilities--she can hold onto things when they are upside-down, is amazingly agile, and can jump HUGE distances--make her too useful to just shoo away and dismiss. So you have to put up with her anyway.
Oh, and "Jolt" is just a nickname. Her REAL name is Jolene Miranda Gonzalez. (Her parents are from the Spanish sector of Mobius, but Jolt was raised in an English-speaking part. Hence, they have the accent but she doesn't, and despite her seeming brainlessness, she's actually bilingual!) But she HATES that name and refuses to answer to it. Whereas her parents refuse to call her anything else. You can see the recipe for trouble brewing here...
