Rotor the Walrus

Rotor is a walrus and one of the Freedom Fighters. He is kinda dorky and slow and doesn't usually seem too bright, but he's actually quite good with mechanical things. He's basically the "mad scientist" of the group--he's very smart, and he's good at fixing things, but on the other paw, he has a tendency to invent strange contraptions that in turn have a rather unsettling tendency to blow up.
Because he's done so much for Bunnie--modified her robotic limbs so that what used to be merely a disfigurement is now an advantage, and saved her from total roboticisation in the first place--one almost wonders if perhaps he might not have a thing for our dear li'l ol' Southern Rabbit. If he does, he hasn't said anything about it, and has lost her to--of all people--Antoine! He's smart but quiet and painfully shy, a bit of a "nerd"--which may be why he hasn't said anything on the subject. Or maybe he just regards her as a good friend--like I said, he's SHY, so we'll probably never know...
He also has a large role in the Archie Sonic comic books, and a rather dark storyline from what I've heard, but I don't know much about it. All I do know is that the last anybody heard of him, and this was SEVERAL issues ago, he was off to the South Pole to search for the walrus herd and his family. Many fans fear that--with the dark turn the comics have taken lately-- if he EVER reappears at ALL, it'll be as a ROBOT! I sure hope that's not true. But with Karl Bollers' little ego-trip--I mean, Nate Morgan--totally and completely in every way usurping and stealing Rotor's spot as the official Knothole engineer, it doesn't look good for our dear walrus. I mean, they don't need TWO, so naturally one of them will have to go, permanently. And in the comics, whenever there's a conflict between an original, game/cartoon character and a comic ONLY character, made up personally by THAT author, the original, older character ALWAYS looses to the personal creation of the comic author. As in when Charmy left the Chaotix CONVENIENTLY right when Ken Penders' OWN character, Julie-Su, joined the group. (Having said that, I LIKE Julie-Su and I think Ken is a WAY better author than Karl.) It's just a leetle suspicious...
But all we can do for now is hope for the best.
