The Emerald Hill Zone

Ah, now we've made it to Sonic 2 in our little tour of Mobius. The second game in the Sonic series starts off here, in the lush and beautiful Emerald Hill Zone. And this is the very FIRST Zone Tails ever spun his way through.
Similar to the Green Hill Zone from Sonic 1 in more than just name, the Emerald Hill Zone is what you might expect--a green, growing, lively area of rolling gentle hills, flowers, puffy clouds, blue skies, etc. This is one of the places Sonic likes to call home (along with Green Hill and, if you read the comic books, "South Island"--wherever the heck THAT is...) and it's fairly peaceful. Even the badniks here don't give the player very much of a problem. It's a pretty darn easy level, with cute catchy silly music, and cute silly monsters. In fact, I'd say it's a lot EASIER than the Green Hill Zone in Sonic 1--it's quite easy to kill yourself in that level. Here, though, you gotta work at it if you wanna commit suicide. There are fewer spikes (although they ARE there), fewer real pits to fall off of, and fewer deadly rides and bridges. Usually if you fall you just fall down to the hill below and loose your place.
All in all, a pretty and peaceful place to visit.

361 curious tourists have strolled through the Emerald Hill Zone since July 26, 1999. Of course, they got so bored they fell asleep and were then killed by coconut-throwing Monkey-Bots, but hey...
