Lair of the Unidragon, Page Nineteen

Lindsey, a small, thin man with shoulder-length brown curls and a thick brown beard, cries, "Welcome! Welcome! DO come in!" in a loud, nasal voice before you can even say anything. "You're here for the job, yes? Now what would your name be?"
"Well, my name is Questor Hy--"
"And have you had any experience with--oh, it doesn't matter!" he flutters, stepping on his OWN sentence for a change, "Let's get you out there! Right this way!"
He leads you out back, and when you see where he stops, you reflect with disgust, I should have asked exactly what he meant by "steady worker". Working at WHAT?
For Lindsey is now leading you into the stables.
Questor Hyrule, the trendiest assassin in Azura, mucking out stables. Oh, well, you think, holding your nose as you set to work, at least it pays well.

After two weeks, Lindsey pays you--less than one-FIFTH the amount he promised!
"WHAT?!" you demand.
"Well," he trembles, "you can't expect me to pay THAT much, just for a stable-boy, and--"
"STABLE-BOY?!" you shout, drawing yourself up to your full height, all 4'2" of it. "Do you know who I am? I am Questor Hyrule, the best assassin in all Azura. Do I make myself clear?"
Lindsey gulps. "Ah...um...I mean...erm...help?"
"Wait." you say, eyeing the bright red sailboat anchored in the storage shed, "that's a nice little boat you have there..."
Lindsey's eyes are bugged out with fright. "Take it! It's yours! Take my team of horses and the wagon to carry it to the seashore, too! Just don't kill me!"
You say nothing, just take the boat, horses, and wagon, and walk away, letting him sweat.

You've done a fair bit of sailing in your pirate days, and the weather happens to be with you, so before long, you're pulling up at a large island. You anchor the boat and step ashore. As far as you can see is a grassy plain. No-one is in sight--but there must have been someone here once, for practically at your feet is a road--with three branches--left, right, and straight ahead.
You heave a great sigh. "Haven't I already been through this?" you mutter. But still, you have to choose. And what's worse is, you've never even BEEN here in your life.
