The Strachan Family

This picture was taken to send to Alexander Geddes Strachan (Kyle and Emma's Great Great Grandfather) who was fighting at Gallipolli in World War One at the time. The girls all had purple velvet dresses on which were made by hand. There was one more child born after the war, Eveline. Of all the children only Catherine (86 in 1999) is still alive. My mother's sister, Auntie Mae, supplied this picture and information. She still visit's Catherine. Catherine had seven children prior to being left a widow at a young age. She brought all the children up herself. Thanks to Auntie Mae for these anecdotes.
