Rangers want Rebrov as well
Scottish champions Rangers confirmed on Tuesday they have
joined the race for Dynamo Kiev's Sergei Rebrov by making an undisclosed bid for
the prolific striker.
Rangers chairman David Murray refused to reveal the exact amount offered to the
Ukrainian side -- reports claim it could be 12 million pounds ($19.22 million)
-- but told the Daily Record newspaper: 'We have bid for the player.'
Barcelona and AC Milan are among those who have contacted Dynamo Kiev about the
player, but Murray is convinced he can attract the man Rangers coach Dick
Advocaat has put at the top of his list of signing targets.
'We have not completed the deal yet and I am not going to say at this time what
we have offered,' said Murray. 'But the fact we have bid for this player is a
clear sign of our intent to build a better team.'
