Go, Hristo

Former Bulgaria striker Hristo Stoichkov, who is tipped to become the national coach is to become coach of Romania first division team Universitatea Craiova, his agent said on Tuesday.

"Stoichkov will sign a contract next week with Universitatea Craiova, replacing Emil Sandoi as the team's main coach," Ioan Becali said.

Becali did not disclose the financial terms of the new contract for Stoichkov, 33, who retired from playing last year and is currently director of Bulgaria's national teams.

The agent said Sandoi would continue as deputy to the Stoichkov, the former Barcelona striker who was voted European player of the year in 1994 when he also led Bulgaria to the World Cup semi-finals. (Courtesy of Reuters)
