Summary : NC CONTROLLER DISPLAYS "LOAD SYSTEM DISK" message

Causes:

• The foppy disk is corrupt, Scandisk the floppy using a PC
• They system files are not located on the disk
• Incorrect version of the system files are on the disk
• The floppy drive is faulty

  Scandisk the Floppy disk

  • Scandisk the Disk using a windows based PC
  • Load windows
  • START - PROGRAMS - ACCESSORIES - SYSTEM TOOLS - SCANDISK
  • Click 3½ FLOPPY (A:)
  • Click START

  System files missing

  • The system disk files are missing, If you are not using the N1060 please download the correct driver from the drivers page. Then using a PC copy either system files from one to the other or your data files. If you are using the N1060 you can format a new disk from flash RAM by booting the unit without a floppy inserted.

  Wrong version system files

  • If you have more that one of these units sometimes you may have a different software verion on them. The system disks are not compatable with other software versions. If you need to get a data file from one unit to the other, format a system disk on each then use a PC to transefer the files.

  Faulty floppy drive

  • Sometimes the floppy drive may become faulty.
  • N1060 drives are standard IBM/PC drives and are easy to change
  • N1050 drives are not standard, they are MODE 3 drives, replacement drives are available from TEAC. Click here for jumper information.
