1. Would my details be revealed to the whole world?
We are fully aware of the dangers of identity theft and spiders crawling the Internet looking for e-mail addresses to spam. The steps currently taken inter alia are
  • Endeavour to prevent this website from being listed in the major search engines. Generally, search engine rely on METANAME tags as the keys for their database. None of the pages here has METANAME tags.
  • Please do not link to this site. Google relies on external links to determine site relevances.
  • e-mail addresses in this site are not hyperlinked, i.e. no mailto: tags. Spam spiders would look for these tags to identify e-mail addresses.

    • 2. How do I submit information to the webmaster?
    Please use the FEEDBACK tool or Errors reporting facility, on the left frame.
    3. Why isn't A's spouse listed on the left frame?
    Priority of profile generation is given to individuals with more complete information, i.e. parent's names, siblings, etc.
    4. Why isn't there a site search function?
    A consequence of having no METANAME tags, is no search capabilities. You can try this and you will understand.
    5. Is this website restricted to descendants of Tan Wu De only?
    No. Although the primary purpose of this website is to allow all his descendants to trace their roots, this website is also meant to stimulate the young ones to find out more about their ancestors both paternal and maternal. As long as no one from different generations marry each other, the tree will not break down.
    6. What happened to A's siblings? They don't appear in his profile.
    A is most likely on the fringes of the family tree. The relationship of siblings are anchored by the father. Unless the father's profile exists, there won't be any hyperlinks to his siblings. The mostly likely reason the father's profile is also missing is the lack of information to warrant a profile.
    7. I am interested in expanding my branch. How do I proceed?
    Determine the names of your grandparents, both paternal and maternal. Submit details of your family to us by e-mail or the FEEDBACK tool. Remember, the more info you provide, the richer that branch would be.
    8. How do I submit photos?
    You can either e-mail the digital files or snail mail the hard copies to me. My domicile address in my profile is outdated. Please contact me for the new address. I'll return your hardcopies after I have them scanned.

    For digital files, please use the jpeg format for optimum quality and transmission.

    At the moment each person is allocated 5 slots. The extras will be displayed in the Families Album. We hope to display shots from different time frames, i.e. 10 months old, 10 years old, 20 years old, 30 years old photos of the individual.
