Hell if I know. Erik's still pumpin' out Savage Dragon, so he's pretty much got his plate filled doing this "Savage New World" stuff. He's also heading up a Defenders series and the Fantastic Four maxi-series. Anything else? Eh... not really. bye.
SAVAGE DRAGON: GANG WAR is OUT ON THE STANDS, RIGHT NOW. It will reprint the Gang War saga that occurred in Savage Dragon, as well as having the longest sketchbook section so far out of the trade paperbacks, an introduction by Kurt Busiek, a spiffy cover, and a checklist for the multitude of villains that appear throughout the book. This is THE must have book for any of you Larsen fans out there. Go buy it RIGHT NOW. Click here to see the front cover in black and white, here to see the back cover in black and white, and here to see the finalized version of the front cover.
IT'S CONFIRMED. Erik Larsen and Mike Allred are collaborating on a project that will team up their two creations, The Savage Dragon and Madman. Says Mike Alred, "I'm using the Dragon in a stand alone adventure in the Atomics and Erik is using Frank and The Atomics for a stand alone gig in SAVAGE DRAGON. In other words--we hope everyone will get both series but you won't afta if ya don't wanna." Thanks to LOUIS "KOLCHAK" PANAGAKOS for getting the information
So what's so special about this book, right? It's done by that Brian Michael Bendis guy. He hasn't got anything to do with Dragon, right? And Powers #1 was filled with characters who sound like they took speach lessons from Woody Allen, so what? Well, in that very issue, a character from Erik's Superpatriot: Liberty & Justice miniseries showed up in a small cameo, and comin in Powers #4, expect our very own Savage Dragon to stop by in the book as well. Just one more book for all you Larsen-fans to waste money on. Enjoy. special thanks to Greg Aubry for the info
The Comic Reader already came out. I didn't get it. Did anyone? I don't know. I still need my copy! Shit!
So far, Keith Giffen, Bruce Timm and of course, Erik Larsen are so far dedicated to this upcoming Fantastic Four project. Erik has also stated that he'd ask Stan to contribute (which is obvious needless to say). This here pic was a part of the treatment that Erik threw together for the FF maxi-series for Marvel. It was taken from Jim D's Erik Larsen Web Resource, to check out his site, go to the links page.
Erik's also almost finished with SAVAGE DRAGON/SUPERMAN: CHICAGO. Click here to see the awesomely painted cover by Erik Larsen and ALEX ROSS! Click here to see Erik's pencils that Alex has to work off of for the SD/Superman cover. Due sometime in 2000. Meanwhile, the SUPERMAN/SAVAGE DRAGON: METROPOLIS issue from DC is already out, click here to see it.
Scheduled to come out sometime in 2000, this book will be about the Vicious Circle coming to Oz to kick ass and take names. Expect wacky hijinks, that's for sure.
