Chapter 4

Snap looked up at the sky, wondering if this meant it was going to rain. She didn't have much time to worry, however, as they soon arrived at the bar. She hopped down as Magnus transformed, then turned to grin at her two old friends.

"You guys sure this is the right place?" she teased, "It looks much too respectable for the likes of you."

Springer grinned at her. "Hey, they know us here. They might not be so sure about you though, Snap. Better be careful."

So that was her name! Bigshot thought triumphantly. He was one step closer in getting her to notice him. Even if he didn't get a chance here, there was her quarters later on. He *did* have the key, and if she got suspicious about his presence he could always say that empty quarters were cleaned routinely and he hadn't known that these had been assigned. It would be easy, and would create an opening for conversation. No one would know what was said; all quarters were soundproofed for privacy's sake.

A few minutes after the foursome had entered the bar, Bigshot followed them. He reasoned that that would have given them enough time to order drinks and find a table. He would watch her long enough to determine what she liked to drink, and then send her one. *That* should get her attention, and maybe help to convince her that he was really a nice guy, help to make her forget the disgust she had felt when she had first seen him. And if that failed, there was always Plan "B". The light made Snap look up to see who was coming in the door. When she noticed the maintenance 'bot she had seen earlier, she quickly ducked her head, hoping he wouldn't notice her. She had the distinct feeling she had seen him somewhere before, and that it hadn't been a pleasant encounter. . .
