Excellent gallery collection covering all periods from classical religious to modern
art. Some excellent paintings with just a slight emphasis on artists from Liverpool and the North-West. The modern art choices
are notable in that nearly all of them are worthwhile rather than being pretentious rubbish. An excellent, comprehensive permanent
collection.

Warhol, Tate Modern. London

An indication of how long I've lived in London is that I went to the last major Andy Warhol
retrospective in about 1990. This new and highly popular extensive exhibition contains a few series of paintings I hadn't
seen before. Some strong iconic images and influential ideas which I'm usually more interested and impressed with than the
paintings themselves. A very good exhibition full of different punters than you usually get at art exhibitions due to Warhol's
hipness. Thought provoking and well worth visiting.
