National
Gallery of Ireland, Dublin ****1/2 An excellent gallery with good, finite collections
from all major countries and eras as well as, perhaps surprisingly, a good 20th Century and modern collection. Quite rightly, the National Gallery has a particularly strong Irish collection including,
most notably, a large room of paintings by Jack B Yeats. Well worth visiting
though next time I should write my review more promptly rather than a year after the event… Visited: 23.10.05 (with Naomi)
1940's House Imperial War Museum, London ***¾ Exhibition
tieing in with the inspiring TV series. Includes a recreation of the house which interestingly includes many furnishings which
my grandparents had and some that have come back into fashion now. Well worth visiting. Visited: 29.7.01 (with Sam)
