Riley, Bridget - Tate Britain, London ***1/2 Career retrospective
of one of our most famous living painters which illustrates that Riley's art never strayed too far from the "Op Art" she famously
produced in the 60s. Riley's art consists of attractive, geometric paintings based on series of curved lines which are both
hypnotic and queasily unsettling. Although Riley's early works are powerful and alluring her later works where she only slightly
adjusts her formula are less effective. Still it's well worth seeing an exhibition of one of our top and most focused living
artists. Seen by me: 9.03 (with Naomi)
