Ellis
Island Museum of Immigration, New York
****1/2
Superb museum on the island site where millions of sea-faring immigrants
were processed on arrival to the United States in the late 19th and early 20th Century. Ellis Island Museum includes information
on all apsects of the immigrants' arrival, processing and settlement in the US as well as a collection of models very clearly
providing demographic statistics of immigration from the 19th Century to the present day. Thre Immigration Centre was finally
closed in 1954 and fell into disrepair before being beautifully restored into this superb museum in 1990. Very much worth
visiting.
