Nota Ringkas (Short Notes)

Pokok bunga besar, tinggi 5 meter. Berasal dari Negara Cina. Bunganya kuning, sangat harum, berada secara sekuntum dua pada hujung dahan. Sukar untuk mendapat bunga yang tidak dimakan serangga. Kuntum bunganya, dan kulit kayunya diguna sebagai ubat tradisi Cina.

A flowering tree that grows to the height of 5 meters. Originated from China. The flowers are yellow, very fragrant, and are bored individually or in twos at the terminals of stems. It is difficult to find an open flower that has not been eatten by insects. The flower buds and the bark are used in Chinese traditional medicine.

According to the book Chinese Medicinal Herbs of Hong Kong, Volume 6; Page 18, the flower buds are warm, carminative, analgesic. The barks promotes circulation, analgesic.
Three of the medical uses listed are:-
Flower buds:
1.     Cold, headache, stuffy nose.
2.     Hypotensive.
Barks:
3.     Gastric distension, stomach ache, diarrhea, stomach distension, vomiting.
