Biasa dapat dijumpai liar dekat kampung, terutama di kawasan berbukit, pokok ini juga banyak ditanam. Pokok ini boleh dimakan segar atau dimasak, dan selalu dgunakan sebagai rempah atau perasa.

Often found growing wild near villages, especially in hilly areas, this plant is also commonly cultivated. The plants can be eatten raw or cooked, and often used as a spice and flovouring.
