In 1986 Disneyland's Disney Gallery opened to the public. It is located in New Orleans Square on the 2nd floor above the entrance to Pirates of the Caribbean. It is in the area which Walt Disney had originally intended to be a private apartment for himself and his guests. Unfortunately he passed on before it was finished. You can still find the initials WD (Walt Disney) and RD (Roy Disney) worked into the iron railings on one of the balconies. The same WD design was later used as the logo of Walt's Restaurant at Disneyland Paris.

Tokyo Disneyland opened their version of The Disney Gallery in 1993 during their tenth anniversary. It is located in World Bazaar also on the 2nd floor. It is much lager than it's Disneyland counterpart and slightly more elegant.

Both Galleries showcase a myriad of artwork produced by the Disney Company which is usually not seen by the general public. Currently Disneyland has an exhibit on the past and future of Tomorrowland. Tokyo is showcasing the concept art used in designing their park..
