Obituary - "Fred Richard Austin Jr.
A private service will be held for Fred Richard Austin Jr., who died April 25, 1998, of cancer at age 83.
Mr. Austin was born Dec. 22, 1914, in Portland. He was a pattern maker for Willamette Pattern Works and retired in 1975. In 1938, he married Vera Johanson; she died in 1997.
Survivors include his sons, Richard of Milwaukie and Fred of Eugene; daughter, Karen Stutheit of Albany; sister, Margaret Stark of Portland; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Private family committal will be in Lincoln Memorial Park. The family suggests remembrances to Kaiser Hospice. Arrangement are by Lincoln Memorial Park Funeral Home."
