We're sorry but we have had to close the guestbook due to its getting spammed by Italian and German porn and gambling links. I don't see how they profited from being so annoying, but they have succeeded in shutting this page down if that was their goal. Perhaps they're still mad about losing their fight for Fascism. Below are some of the old entries for your reading pleasure.
CommentsTo whom it may concern: I was reading Charlie Adams Ghost Stories of Berks County book # 2. I have a question regarding the story about Grings Mill. Where is Lock 49 located and did a mother and children really committ suicide there during the late 1800's / early 1900's? Also where is the farmhouse located where the farmer layed the bodies out on the porch? I'd really like to know the answers to these questions, please write me back asap. Thanks, Steve
CommentsHello! I just wanted to say that it's great to have found this group. I've learned so much about acoustic musics in the past couple of years from my loose association with the group. Being a former funk-punk-rocker with a folkie heart, I've really enjoyed being introduced to the work of the historical acoustic pioneers from the US and around the world by the members. And the FCMS has a very nice and welcoming bunch of people all, with a great sense of humor and consideration for players of all skill levels. Also, a note as the web guy: Previous Guestbook Signers may have noticed that their guestbook entries have disappeared- sorry about that, it was nothing personal, just a little snafu during updating. Please sign in again!
Commentshi all ...i am glad to see the web site is up and running again...some of us live to read the discussion!!!great job on the site mr. web master!

CommentsFull Circle Music Society is a wonderful organization, all are welcome, I know anyone will enjoy us, as well as this site, and please if anyone has questions, feel free to ask any of the fine people on the board and any of the members, as Full Circle is founded on and is run by the decisions and input of a lot of people and it is well worth getting the story or any information from any of our members, you will find it rewarding.
CommentsThis is an excellent organization to be aligned with. While I like my EBG (electric bass guitar), I occasionally enjoy my acoustic guitar and someday will get an upright bass!!! I recommend the FCMS to anyone interested in music.
CommentsI have spoken with a few of you, but I wanted to let you know that a new project, the Franklin Street Coffeehouse, is started at the First Uni- tarian Universalist Church of Berks County, 4l6 Franklin St., every second Friday evening of the month from 7-9 p.m. The project is co-sponsored by the church, Berksbards, Berks Art Alliance. We just started a few months back and have been averaging about 50 people (without publicity, yet). I play the banjo and others help, but we are short of musicians. I heard one of your groups play at the museum a month ago, and as one of the coffeehouse steering committee members and the minister of the church would like to invite your organization to consider two invitations: l. Come and play any second Friday evening. We have a sign-up sheet and open mic time. 2. Think about whether there might be any way to join our partnership of groups. The church provides space, food and coffee, set up and take-down; Berks bards provides poetry; art from the Berks Art Alliance. What we lack is a group to coordinate music. I can't speak for the entire steering committee, but I can say I think we would welcome your participation. I can be reached at the church (6l0)372-0928. Sincerely, John Morgan

CommentsHi EJ. just a short note to say hi ! I'm the slide / lead player on andy collins's albums. I couldn't help but notice you are a fan of slide ( who isn't ? ). Having been a Llowell George devotee since '72 , i've often wanted to get over there and have a run with the big boys. Anyhow i might have something of mine for you soon, if i can drag myself back into the studio lol.A good buddy of mine also played on the latest album. His name is Kirk Lorange.Highly reccomended ! If you can get his first album " No Apostrophe " I'm sure you'll like it.I can be contacted at theguitarist2003@yahoo.com.au hope to hear from you. Paul.

CommentsDear People: I have a friend who is looking for a harp teacher. He has a Paraguayan (folk) harp, lives in Reading, and would like to learn from somebody in the area, even if it's not the Paraguayan style. If you can suggest a teacher within an hour's drive (or so), please contact me at apenaatreadingeagledotcom. (I wrote out the symbols so that the address would not be picked up by one of those infernal programs that collects e-mail addresses and sells them to spammers). Thanks. Poncho Peña
CommentsWhy must I keep removing those annoying guest book entries of irrelevant batches of links from Germany? What thrill do they get from posting poker and porn web links here? To the annoying poster: Congratulations, you have succeeded in annoying me if that is your goal. Otherwise, nobody will click on your links here. This page gets about 1 visitor per year anyway. Please don't waste your time and mine. |
