Parents Guide

FUN NET
Fun Net is for 5-7 year olds. It develops the fundamental motor skills for netball, such as
running, catching, throwing, balance and spacial awareness.

NETTA
Netta is for 8-10 year olds. It is a skill develpoement program where the child plays a
modified game of netball which enables children to actually start learning about netball
itself. They begin to learn about things such as the different positions and the areas that
they are allowed to go into.
The Modified Rules of Netta:
 

• a size 4 ball is used, instead of a size 5, to develop the required skills.
• 6 seconds of holding time is allowed, instead of 3 seconds, for the child to release the
• ball from their hands.
• players rotate their position during the game so that they can experience the different positions.

11 & UNDER
The 11 & Under competition follows adult rules but there are no finals at the end of the
season. The emphasis is on allowing the players to develop netball skills and court knowledge.
