The Church

I like a lot of bands, but The Church has over the years, I think, become my favorite. For those of you who may remember the song 'Under the Milky Way", yes, those guys are still around. In fact, they never went away and have been making great music now for twenty years. They have several new cds out, with their latest effort "A Box of Birds" being a cover album with lots of great songs on it by everyone from the Beatles to Iggy Pop. I recommend it for the curious but would also recommend their most recent original release "Hologram of Baal". I picked it up on the same day I bought REM's "Up" album, and while "Up" was a disappointment, "HOB" played like a old friend. It has a warm, fuzzy, surrealism to it that has always been part of what I've liked about the Church. Anyway, here are some links for any of you who might be interested in this great band.
