To Making An
RPG
Just start. Anyway, it's no matter whether you'd make and intorduction or just say ''Hey, this is an RPG!''. Because if players are interested they'd only jump in and begin to play.
Maybe because you haven't put in a plot line in it?
In the first post, or you just can reveal it along the way.
If you put the plot story in:
The first post: then you have a certain target to achieve, like Link have to kill Ganon, it's very obvious.
Along the way: more freedom to control you storyline, complete with subquests, like the Final Fantasy series, you never know who will you fight as the last boss.
Up to you, wether it's medieval, ancient, modern, futuristic, retro future, hybrid, etc. The theme is just to make your RPG more ordered, and gives players a certain sense of what to do.
Have you watched any John Woo action movies? Do it like that, in case of emergency e.g. Cheeze Wizz, you as the creator must intervene, e.g. gives a certain power or make a situation to save the day e.g. an earthquake strikes the cheeze wizzing player therefore making his attack futile, that kind of stuff.
Usually you create another situation, such as ''the earthquake opened a new passageway towards an underground city. But you are free to employ anything, fairies, visions, etc.
Maybe because you are not known enough yet? Yes, sometimes popularity is the key to make a successful RPG.
You only have to be popular in certain communities, especially the RPG playing kind, join their RPGs, learn the ropes, made yourself known, etc, then make your own one.
Stubborn little ****, learn some patience first too.
Well, you can RP in other topics, maybe the Lounge or any other social topics (in RI of course). Yes, a little battle here and there can make yourself relatively known.
Good, that's a good start.
Do some research, employ figures that almost known, weapons, backgrounds, everything, from anime to vampire the masquerade.
Do you want this to work, or not?
Role Playing, can be anything, you can role play a date ( acknowlegment to norcross ), a movie, an archeological dig, anything.
Spice things up with multiple personas, create some NPCs to move the story, or invite others to be part of your RPG world.
Okay, employ subquests, off plot mayhem, humor, just use your imagination and common sense.
Yeah, it is.
Don't, because it's up for the players common sense to figure that one out.
Ask for the players for advice, an RPG that hears the voices of the players is a good one.
Click create topic, and write ''This is An RPG'' on the title.
As far as I know... repetition, boredom, and the No.1 threat, new people will be disinterested to join. It would also start some kind of schism among the ranks of the players or would be players.
Technically, none, although it gives the players some sort of freedom towards the environs, and usually requires the posts to be more colorful than the usual RPG.
Yes, it's more popular because people can easily jump in by just reading the last few posts, and it's relatively easy to blend in, because more freedom is incorporated in this game, it's usually depends on the players to make the story line spicey!
That would be a biased answer since I make them too.
Hmmm another biased question but to me, Fallout, Baldur's Gate, Star Ocean2, FF VI. I also put elements from this games, plus some animes, cartoon, comics and novels into an RPG.
Asking for industrial secrets? Well, here's the thing you basically must do, be creative, imaginative and put some attitude/spice into your RPG's, wheter it's the ''anything goes'' attitude seen on GameFAQs, Battle! RPG, or Sonic's nameless (or insert a name) RPG, ''dark attitude'', ''nasty attitude'', anything.
Because they are more inviting to seasoned players, and when regulars see's this, they will follow the seasoned's taste. Naturally.
Keep acting like that and nobody would, and you'd also irritate non-players on the board.
You forgot to create an envoriment for players to join that's what, for an example a lounge, lobby or room for joining players at the first post, for mutual starting place.
Let them, as long as the original one is not disrupted by their actions. Hey, people are having fun, you should be proud.
You always do, don't you? Let see, hmmm, try this one, make another account, post under that new one, and give the players some wild card to worry about. Ever heard of Phantom Glass?
Are you looking forward to be strangled?
Not my problem, try asking the pissed off red guy with the horns.
Get a shrink or join group therapy or something.
Now that's a problem I know how to solve, it's almost a fact that you haven't posted some plot posts, where you direct the players where to go and what to do next, obviously this is because you are in control , not some AI, or some program.
Hmmmmm?
Well, first I'd ask them to politely take it outside the topic, then if the problems continue, mark every one of them for moderation, I don't know if the latter would help though.
Hmmm, hey you are the eligible Dungeon Master, so to speak, you're supposed to be the judge on that matter, atleast that's what I think, but judge wisely my apprentice .
Here's something that CJayC found and I think it's very relevant and downright quite funny!

Well, most of them are either vanished or lurking, like Gaw, Tekno, ArrowE, or Leon, but some of them still remains as themselves or as a ''newer version'' of themselves and there are new emerged masters as well, here are a few personalities :
Sonic Boom : He kept the RR tradition alive.
Icefall : The mistress of the Observatory.
Destiny's Assasin : One of the masters of the Italics.
E Third : A schizophrenic who climbed to be another new master.
Wolfgang V. : He tries, and succeeded.
EricD16 : a player thirsty for an RPG game.
That's to name a few, try to find them yourself, young whelp.
