RELEASE DATE : MARCH 18, 2021 With the license agreement with the Topps Company, Funko has been releasing Garbage Pail Kids product for several years. Starting in 2015, during the 30th anniversary, with further installment releases in 2016 and 2018. The last set of four GPK POP!s were released in 2018, also rendered from their Mystery Minis counterparts, but collectors are still hoping for a third Mystery Minis release. The four new POP!s take character inspiration from the first two Mystery Minis releases and has a scheduled March 18, 2021 release date.  PRE-ORDER Although a leaked image hit the dark webs several days earlier, on December 11, 2020, the Funko company took to social media to share the POP! GPK announcement ad, and simply stating: "Coming Soon: Pop! Garbage Pail Kids. Pre-order your favorites now!" with a link to the FYE website and pre-order links set for March 18, 2021. The leaked image had the characters in a different order, had no background, no nameplates, and a red Garbage Pail Kids banner rather than the 'GPK' acronym.  ECCC On February 18, 2021, Funko took to social media to simply state, "Funko Virtual Con Spring 2021: Pop! Garbage Pail Kids - Bony Tony", during their third day of virtual convention announcements for the Emerald City Comic Con. The Funko fan club lottery winners were able to shop for the ECCC product on March 3, 2021, including some exclusive Funko Shop items, and the shared figures with retailers went live online and in-store on March 4, 2021, to the general public/peons. Two box sticker versions exist, the official ECCC convention sticker and the shared '2021 Spring Convention' sticker. Around July, 2021, the Funko POP figures for #6, #7, #8, and #9 could be found with the blue and yellow "Only at Walmart" sticker on the frontside of the packaging. Funko may have sold Walmart this exclusive option for the second production with the TTC210420 code stamp. ready for consumable sale in mid April, titled ADAM Bomb's Nuclear Sunrise Orange
Soda. Two new GPK candy bar flavors followed in July. All artwork by artists JOE
Simko. In 2020, product by FYE® included a GPK cereal bar, three-pack mini boxes of cereal, a cereal bowl and spoon set, and a card sunshade. In 2019, product by FYE® included an ADAM Bomb-inspired energy drink, GPK Cereal with two exclusive stickers, two different types of Candy Bars, a GPK t-shirt, and GPK hot sauces. A sold-out pin set from GPK Nation premiered the new logo that had replaced the 30th Anniversary logo. Although it doesn't scream "GPK", it harkens back to Topps's novelty candies, etc. The beverage is caffeine-free, and contains cane sugar and natural flavors. GPK CANDY BARS — JULY 2021  The Topps and FYE companies continued collaboration was first announced on April 30th, within the Topps May 2021 GPK newsletter, simply stating: 'GPK CANDY BARS', 'ALL NEW FLAVORS!', and 'COMING SOON'. The image showcased two characters from the 2021S1 Food Fight! release, 'DRIPPY SKIPPY BAR', milk choclate with peanut butter filling, and 'COTTON KANDY BAR', cotton candy flavored white confection. Artwork by artist JOE Simko for both characters. 
 The Topps company took to social media on June 21, 2021 to accounce the GPK candy bars stating: "Get your tastebuds ready... a new line of GPK candy bars are coming to FYE stores in July! Which one are you tasting first - Cotton Kandy or Drippy Skippy? " The characters are taken from Food Fight! cards 23a Drippy SKIPPY (and 23b Ridiculous REESE) and 45a Cotton KANDY (and 45b Sugar SHEENA). |

Topps Company, creator of the renowned-yet-subversive Garbage Pail Kids® brand
("GPK"), have teamed up for a collaboration of epic and ground-breaking
proportions. The collaboration,
licensed by Topps, will feature both classic retro artwork and photography, as
well as all-new 1980s skateboard inspired artwork from renowned GPK illustrators.
As if that were not intriguing enough, just two weeks later, May 14th will see the first actual skateboard release from GetaGripSkateboards ("GAGS"). A Limited-Edition deck of just 300 quantity - USA printed and made. Expect a first glimpse of this deck design a week after the wheels drop - but wait, there's more! We caught up with the two mysterious founders of GAGS, Ray Decay and Dead Ted (possibly not their real names!), and they let the cat out of the bag that there would be a further 5 deck release (with a twist!) very soon after that - and even more decks, more wheels and clothing too, in the pipeline! Ray and Ted also explained how this unique partnership came about: "Get a Grip Skateboards was EXPLICITLY formed out of an incomprehensible addiction and passion for GPK. We liked what Santa Cruz did with their decks back in 2017, but we felt that the story was left unfinished. Licensed Topps Garbage Pail Kids Product GPK x WWE The Loyal Subjects (TLS) toy company acquired a Topps license agreement in 2020 to develop several different toy products for the GPK brand. Their first foray into the parody realm was with four GPK x WWE characters taken directly from the 2019 Online release and painted by artists JOE Simko and BRENT Engstrom. A sneak peek of the packaging and figurine was posted to social media on January 8, 2021 and simply stated: "Coming Soon, until now... just a package!" Pre-order links for 07/01/2021 were posted to Wal*Mart on April 1, 2021. Topps per social media stated, "Introducing GPK X WWE figures from The Loyal Subjects! Find four different WWE Legends re-imagined as GPK’s and inspired by the original Topps cards (from artists Joe Simko and Brent Engstrom)!" I spent a good amount of time trying to sort out how to replicate the traditional GPK style with digital painting. Being a freelancer is a bit like being in a cover band from time to time; setting aside your natural artistic inclinations and trying to emulate a style that is already recognizable. Mostly, for me, it seems to involve restraint." On August 12, 2024, Sward posted final artwork for Tattoo LOU and mentioned, "Another of the Garbage Pail Kids collaborations I did with @kommienezuspadt a few years back, with him handling the pencils and me handling the painting. Per October 21, 2021, press release: Topps Announces 2021 Topps Garbage Pail Kids Nifty Kids NFT Collection NEWEST NFT LAUNCH CREATES UNIQUE, LAYERED MIX-AND-MATCH SET OF NFT DIGITAL COLLECTIBLES Topps today announced the 2021 Topps Garbage Pail Kids Nifty Kids NFT Collection, a brand new layered mix-and-match set of NFT digital collectibles each uniquely created by the fan who first purchases it, is available on RareDrop.io with NFTs powered by the WAX Blockchain. Starting
in 2019, the WWE had previously partnered with Ripple Junction, Chalk-Line, Rock'Em
Socks, and Spencer's to create apparel for their WWE x GPK clothing line. The
dream wrestling mash-up was kicked off by a 2019 online card set of the same name.
More information can be found on the '2019 Online' page within the Yearly section,
and on the '2019 Licenses' page. Starting on March 2, 2021, Hot Topic began to
carry a select variety of WWE x GPK T-shirts via a new Topps license. This product
debut was an online exclusive, to test sales. The quantities for this test run
were limited and if sales were big enough the product could and would eventually
be placed in their physical locations.  You might remember the Undertaker as part of the 4-person WWE x GPK tag-team t-shirt, blanket, and hat in 2019 from Spencer's, and a pair of solo Rock'em socks from the WWE shop. The fabric quality of Hot Topic's first foray into WWE x GPK apparel does appear to be superior. The Rock artwork was also previously released on a Spencer's light blue t-shirt and Rock'em socks. Although the Mick Foley artwork is new to apparel now, it was tested out on t-shirt in late 2019. All three characters can be found within the 2019 WWE x GPK online card set. The all-new artwork for both the Hulk/Savage and Michaels/Hart were created in February 2020 by artist Brent Engstrom, but were not released until a year later.
