| At
the beginning of the new year, the Topps company continued to release another
installment of their exclusive online brand of Garbage Pail Kids cards and product
as specialized and limited items. This marks their sixth consecutive year offering
a slew of unique online material to the masses, in between their larger retail
releases that tends to cater to a much smaller niche of hardcore collectors. The
Bizarre Holidays sets, found on their own page, started dropping on January 5th,
and the first non-observance offering was the GPK Collectors Club, that dropped
on January 21st, 2021 and sold out under forty minutes. "The Topps Company, with a stable of legendary underground cartoonists created Garbage Pail Kids in 1985. The gross-out humor and subversive attitude appealed to the kids of the time and quickly became a massive success. As the Garbage Pail Kids’ notoriety grew, so too did their popularity on the playground. School administrators banning Garbage Pail Kids from school grounds further fueled their demand for more than a dozen additional card series. This pop-culture phenomenon inspired plenty of tie-in items as toy and novelty stores experienced a wave of merchandise that included t-shirts, school folders, sticker albums, jewelry, key chains, and yes actual garbage pails. Today, that list of GPK merchandise has expanded to partnerships with Funko, FYE, Santa Cruz, Chalk Line, Geeki Tikis, WWE, Netflix, and more! Topps' first major online Garbage Pail Kids release dropped on January 21st, 2021,
an inaugural Collectors Club membership for GPK;
the first for a non-sport card brand. The other two sports card clubs include
'582 Montgomery', established in 2018, and offers exclusive releases inspired
by the Topps Company's early days in Brooklyn, NY, and 'Future Stars Club', established
in late 2020, a monthly subscription that delivers exclusive content. The aforemntioned
582 Montgomery club offered its members first dibs on the GPK Sapphire boxes released
in December. The website posting mistakingly stated product was available "from
Jan 22, 2021 and expires on Jan 28, 2021", instead of starting on Jan 21;
however, the $200 'Limited Membership Availability!'

online for one week only from January 29 to February 05, 2021 and cost $19.99

NA. Topps released a Digital Version of GameStonk! via WAX Blockchain on February 9, 2021. The 4,950 packs sold out in seventeen minutes. Topps released their 2021 On-Demand set #1 GPK Funny Valentines
online for one week only from February 11 to February 18, 2021 and cost $40.00
per twenty-six card set. The set SOLD OUT
the same day, within several hours (roughly five hours). The set is composed of
tribute artwork of the Original Series characters. Within their set 'Description'
section, the Topps Shop stated: "Includes 26 Stickers! Why not give the love
of your life something they will truly be sick over. We have the perfect Valentine
Day stickers for all the people in your life." The pack configuration contained:
a 21-card base set, 2 character Valentines cards, 3 parallel cards (2 red hearts
+ 1 black hearts), and a 1:2 chance at a sketch card. The set configuration contained:
the 20-card base set, 1 header card, plus 10 Valentines greeting chase cards (trading
card sized). The online checklist was numbered 1a-20b, but the printed cards have
the traditional 1a-10b pattern. |

The first set centers around the club president, NAT Nerd, his campaign election,
and GPK character tribute artwork. The set was shipped around March 19, 2021 enclosed
in a GPK box also contained a header/checklist card and a NAT Nerd enamel pin. Per the Topps GPK Collector's Club website page set description: • Set 1: Trash Can-Didates • Nat Nerd for a "Kinder, Gentler GPK Nation." This was not an easy election for Nat to win, by any means. Even after they misspelled his name* on the web he continued to show who should be club president. Many classic characters came out to be a part of the election process but couldn’t overtake the biggest Nerd of all. Congratulations to Nat Nerd for winning the first ever GPK Collectors Club election. set, or $179.99 for ten bulk sets. Within their set 'Description' section, the
Topps Shop stated, "Includes 10 Stickers! The GPK Shammy's are back in 2021!"
and on social media mentioned, "The Garbage Pail Kids SHAMMY Awards are back
for another year! Featuring your favorite musical talents like Tree-Swift, Stunning
STALLION, Buoyant BILLIE and HARRY Boa. See the full lineup and collect them here
for a limited time: ..." A new sentence was added to their set listing for
this release that stated, "All sales are final. Print
runs revealed after sales window expires. Art subject to change. Not responsible
for typographical/printer errors."  Due to bad timing and recent violence against the Asian race surrounding COVID, et cetera, Topps was pressured to remove the sixth image in the set, for cards 6a and 6b, that showcased the BTS (Korean K-Pop boy) band with their heads sticking out of a game board, in Whack-a-Mole fashion, getting hit by a Grammy award. Topps shared an apology to social media on March 17, 2021. |

Topps released an exclusive 5-card GPK set within their Future
Stars Club monthly boxed subscription for March 2021. A partial, rehashed
parody baseball set taken from the 2015 Series 1, heavily-themed baseball GPK
release. Half of the original 10-card subset from 2015 was also reprinted images
from previous Original Series releases, and the other half contained new images
from the 2015 base set. Although the front of the Future Stars Club cards are
the same, the backsides are completely new and include some fun facts and trivia.  FUN FACT for card back #4 references the 2020 R.L. Stine GPK book, as seen picture above, while card #1 TRIVIA asked "Can you name the year when the first GPK set was releaed? (1985), card #2 FUN FACT stated that "There was a GPK movie released back in 1987", card #3 TRIVIA asked "What is the name of the very first GPK? (1a Nasty Nick), and card #5 TRIVIA asked "When will the GPK celebrate their 40th Anniversary?" (2025). A pair of Topps headphones and a 2021S1 GPK Food Fight blaster tin rounded out the subscription box for March. |

Topps released a 2021 GPK x Complexland Set 2 crossover
set online for one week only from November 5 to November 12, 2021 and cost $19.99
per twelve-card set, or $179.99 for ten bulk sets. Within their set 'Description'
section, the Topps Shop stated: "Complex and Garbage Pail Kids have partnered
up to create a batch of hype-themed characters to commemorate ComplexCon 2021.
Sold for a limited time only, each set contains 12 stickers" Per Wiki, Complex
Networks, based out of NYC, is an American media and entertainment company focused
on youth culture. The annual and physical ComplexCon, started in 2016, took a
short break during the COVID-19 pandemic and created the online ComplexLand virtual
events for 2020 and 2021, and returned live to Long Beach, CA for the November
6-7 convention show. Topps took to social media on November 6 and announced, "The Garbage Pail Kids take on ComplexCon! Swing by the Topps ComplexCon booth to get your hands on these gorgeous gold frames on rainbow foil board (1a-6a available today & 1b-6b available tomorrow)!" and on Sunday, November 7, stated, "We're completing your ComplexCon collection on day 2 with Garbage Pail Kids 1b-6b! line of Garbage Pail Kids cards, 81-sticker set featuring 20 contemporary artists
