KAKKONES + SGORBIONS

In 2008, Kakkones were printed by Topps Europe Ltd. (Merlin Collections) and released throughout Italy, rebranded from the original 'Sgorbions' name from the '90s. The cards come 4 to a wax pack. The cards were released in 2008-2009 after the success of the Garbage Pail Kids in the U.S. and the U.K. They are a direct reproduction of the U.S.and U.K. cards. A total of two releases, measuring slightly smaller than 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches, that are non-die cut; peeling from the edges, were produced during the resurrection of the 80's nostalgic GPK period in the U.S. with All-New releases.

In 2018, Sgorbions were re-released by Topps Europe Ltd. and printed and released throughout Italy. The set is a direct replication of the 2008 Kakkones Series 1 release based off of the early U.S. All-New Series releases, with cards measuring slightly smaller than 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches, that are non-die cut; peeling from the edges. An album and magazine accompanied the release. This is the first time an international set has been reversed released in the UK, although perhap a 2008 UK was developed but shelved?

A re-release of twelve 2013 figures from the U.S. Series 1 MiniKins release occured the following year within Italy in early 2019 and was marketed under the 'Sgorbions' label and packaged in cups of 'SLIME'. Each cup of slime cost €2,99 and came with one personaggio (character) and a 'Sgorbio-Book' full of activities. As with the 2018 card release, consisting of ANS material, the product was published by Topps Europe Limited out of the UK, associated with Merlin Collections. Another 'SLIME' released occurred in the UK under the nostalgic moniker 'The Garbage Gang' in March of 2019 that was an identical release to the Sgorbions tubs but without an activity booklet.
