The Topps assistant director, Mark Newgarden, from the NPD (New Product Development) department, had concept artist and writer Jay Lynch create the artwork and card-type for the OS12 Garbage Pail Kids reverse card backs, where Lynch sketched out and completed the one-panel artwork images for The Garbage Gang comics, with assistance by his artist friend, Gary Whitney, and lettering by Grass Green. The two completed puzzles went back to the twenty-one (3x7) card layout, as previous releases. The comic backs numbered at twenty for the OS12 set, but only eighteen unique comics with two duplicates (including different 'FLICK IT!' sections), and forty 'FLICK IT!' panels. For the OS11 through OS16 comic backs, artist Jay Lynch was given a lot more aritistic freedom (freedom of artistic expression) and the liberty to create brand-new material.

The NPD department would create the artwork and card type, but the actual Art department was in charge of the overall design and layout, and would produce the composition of the front side and card backs as well as the promotional material and packaging. Composition images were generated to help guide the final card type design and artwork placement. 'THE GARBAGE GANG' logo was adopted during the OS9 set, changes due to the OAA vs. Topps lawsuit, but the OS11 set introduced the 'FLICK IT!' section, created by artist Richard McGuire, that would stick around until the end of the Garbage Pail Kids run, including the shelved OS16 release.

Per Wiki, a (comic) panel is an individual frame, or a single drawing, usually in the multi-panel sequence of a comic strip or comic book, as well as a graphic novel, including manga. A panel consists of a single piece of artwork depicting a frozen moment. The word 'panel' may also refer to a comic consisting of a single drawing, the usage is a shortened form of 'single-panel comic'. Typically, a panel comic only has one spoken line, oftentimes printed in a caption beneath the panel itself, but not always. Case in point.

"
I did all [of] these one panel gags, finished art and color roughs [for the 12th Series]. Grass Green did the lettering. Gary Whitney assisted. 'Flick It' is by someone else." JAY Lynch, circa March 2003.

Per Wiki, Richard Edward "Grass" Green (1939—2002) was an African American cartoonist and penciller notable for being the first black participant in both the 1960s fan art movement and the 1970s underground comics movement.

Per Lambiek Comiclopedia, Gary Whitney was an underground comix artist. He contributed to Bizarre Sex and Dope Comix at Kitchen Sink Press, and was also present at Artie Romero's Everyman Studios. He drew the 'Phoebe & the Pigeon People' comic strip (1978-1996), written by Jay Lynch for the Chicago Reader. From 1990 on, Jim Siergey was assistant-inker.

Card No. 460 — Artwork & Card Type by JAY LYNCH — Assisted by GARY WHITNEY & GRASS GREEN
Featuring OS1 & OS2 GPK Characters by JOHN POUND + 'FLICK IT!' OS4 Artwork by RICHARD MCGUIRE
NOTE: 'FLICK IT!' PANELS #8 & #7, FOR CARDS 460a & 460b, RESPECTIVELY

The comic back for OS12 reverse card 460a Ball 'N SHANE & 460b Hard ROCKY, by JAMES Warhola, features OS1 character artwork for cards 26a Slobby ROBBIE & 26b Fat MATT and OS2 character artwork for cards 76a BONNIE Bunny & 76b Pourin' LAUREN, both originally created by JOHN Pound, plus 'FLICK IT!' panels #8 and #7, respectively, created by Richard McGuire, featuring OS4 character artwork for cards 132a Bony TONY & 132b Unzipped ZACK, originally created by JOHN Pound.

During the early 70s, the now infamous "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service" window signs became pretty widespread at businesses, originally aimed towards the hippie movement, which included counterculture and nonconformity. As with previous comic entries, BONNIE seemed to have been very popular with JAY; this showcases her first appearance for this release of reverse card backs. BONNIE obviously doesn't have a problem with the "No Shirt" policy—and assuming he's still wearing "No Shoes", which is out of sightbut apparently draws the line at ruining tablecloth linen.

Card No. 462 — Artwork & Card Type by JAY LYNCH — Assisted by GARY WHITNEY & GRASS GREEN
Featuring OS4 & OS5 GPK Characters by JOHN POUND + 'FLICK IT!' OS1 Artwork by RICHARD MCGUIRE
NOTE: 'FLICK IT!' PANELS #28 & #27, FOR CARDS 462a & 462b, RESPECTIVELY

The comic back for OS12 reverse card 462a Half PRICE & 462b Checked CHET, by JOHN Pound, features OS4 character artwork for cards 134a Hip KIP & 134b WALT Witless and OS5 character artwork for cards 194a Nasty NANCY & 194b Razzin' ROSLYN, both originally created by JOHN Pound, plus 'FLICK IT!' panels #28 and #27, respectively, created by Richard McGuire, featuring OS1 character artwork for cards 8a ADAM Bomb & 8b Blasted BILLY, originally created by JOHN Pound.

Another beatnik (50s/60s) character reference by JAY, whom was very big within the undergound comix scene and had hippie (70s) cohorts, such as Skip Williamson, as inspiration for quite a bit of his material. If you're familiar with how Janice speaks, from The Muppet Show, "Oh, Like, Wow, Man...", a combination of both, Hip KIP would sound somewhat similar, straight out of the Beat Generation, living a bohemian lifestyle, wanting to stay 'cool' and not interrupt. The comic suggests that Nasty NANCY has been razzing for three weeks straight, and Hip KIP has patiently been waiting to catch a break in her ranting.

Card No. 464 — Artwork & Card Type by JAY LYNCH — Assisted by GARY WHITNEY & GRASS GREEN

NOTE: 'FLICK IT!' PANELS #12 & #11, FOR CARDS 464a & 464b, RESPECTIVELY

The comic back for OS12 reverse card 464a Tongue Tied TEDDY & 464b Dressed To KILLIAN, by TOM Bunk, features OS1 character artwork for cards 6a ART Apart & 6b Busted BOB and OS2 character artwork for cards 47a Disgustin' JUSTIN & 47b Vile KYLE, both originally created by JOHN Pound, plus 'FLICK IT!' panels #12 and #11, respectively, created by Richard McGuire, featuring OS4 character artwork for cards 132a Bony TONY & 132b Unzipped ZACK, originally created by JOHN Pound.

The dismembered character, Busted BOB, looks disgusted and angry for a very good reason, he's been torn apart for no good reason. Sadly, the apologetic character, Vile KYLE, is victim to a case of 'mistaken identity', per the Merriam-Webster dictionary, "a situation in which someone or something is mistakenly thought to be someone else." The biker gang member is only living up to his bad-boy stereotype, but could consider some anger management strategies.

Card No. 465 — Artwork & Card Type by JAY LYNCH — Assisted by GARY WHITNEY & GRASS GREEN
Featuring OS3 & OS5 GPK Characters by BUNK & POUND + 'FLICK IT!' OS4 Artwork by RICHARD MCGUIRE
NOTE: 'FLICK IT!' PANELS #14 & #13, FOR CARDS 465a & 465b, RESPECTIVELY

The comic back for OS12 reverse card 465a Upsy DAISYS & 465b Barfy BARBIES, by JOHN Pound, features OS3 character artwork for cards 116a Eerie ERIC & 116b Berserk KIRK, originally created by TOM Bunk, and OS5 character artwork for cards 201a MICHAEL Mutant & 201b ZEKE Freak, originally created by JOHN Pound, plus 'FLICK IT!' panels #14 and #13, respectively, created by Richard McGuire, featuring OS4 character artwork for cards 132a Bony TONY & 132b Unzipped ZACK, originally created by JOHN Pound.

The freakshow character, MICHAEL Mutant, is seen without his 'normal' face mask, which hides his protruding third eye, snout-like nose, and monster-like grin. The mask would seemingly suggest that the character was already aware of his freakish looks, but perhaps the mask was purchased after this interation with Eerie ERIC. The fury critter, Eerie ERIC, pays the freaky character an indirect insult by only stating, "A mirror!", an indirect object, rather than stating, "It's YOU!", a direct, personal afront.

The comic back for OS12 reverse card 467a Tongue In CHICO & 467b NICK Lick, by JOHN Pound, features OS6 character artwork for cards 248a HECTOR Collector & 248b G.P. KAY, originally created by JAMES Warhola, and OS7 character artwork for cards 251a Barfin' BARBARA & 251b VALERIE Vomit, originally created by JOHN Pound, plus 'FLICK IT!' panels #20 and #19, respectively, created by Richard McGuire, featuring OS1 + OS4 character artwork for cards 8a ADAM Bomb & 8b Blasted BILLY and 132a Bony TONY & 132b Unzipped ZACK, respectively, both originally created by JOHN Pound.

Lynch has a tendency of making his GPK comic characters a bit grouchy and accusatorial. I first thought the character at the tub was OS2 GPK character 52a Dirty HARRY & 52b ROB Slob (by JOHN Pound), but the character has no pig snout and might actually like a bathtub filled with dirty contents. The banana brings to mind OS6 GPK character HECTOR Collector. Regardless, the obvious suspect, Barfin' BARBARA dodges the question by placing the blame on a 'vomit fairy', where within the realm of fey, fairies are known to pull pranks and be mischievous.

The comic back for OS12 reverse card 469a Upset TOMMY & 469b Tub 'O LARS, by TOM Bunk, features OS5 character artwork for cards 170a RICHIE Retch & 170b LUKE Puke and OS7 character artwork for cards 251a Barfin' BARBARA & 251b VALERIE Vomit, both originally created by JOHN Pound, plus 'FLICK IT!' panels #38 and #37, respectively, created by Richard McGuire, featuring OS1 character artwork for cards 8a ADAM Bomb & 8b Blasted BILLY, originally created by JOHN Pound.

The barfing GPK characters are finding a bit of time to converse between bouts of vomiting episodes. Quite a few individuals suffer from nausea or motion sickness caused by the rocking or movement of a ship, boat, etcetera, on a body of water. Naturally, lockjaw, the condition of tetanus, is a spasm of the jaw muscles which cause the mouth to remain tightly closed. This would NOT be ideal while puking, which would back up in the mouth and be forced up through the nasal passage and out through the nostrils.

NOTE: CARD 472 ALSO CONTAIN COMPLETED PUZZLE PREVIEW BACKS

The comic back for OS12 reverse card 472a WALTER Fall & 472b RONNY Nose, by JOHN Pound, features OS2 character artwork for cards 81a Split KIT & 81b Mixed-Up MITCH, originally created by JOHN Pound, and OS9 character artwork for cards 366a Low-Life LOLA & 366b SIS Pool, originally created by JOHN Pound, plus 'FLICK IT!' panels #36 and #35, respectively, created by Richard McGuire, featuring OS1 character artwork for cards 8a ADAM Bomb & 8b Blasted BILLY, originally created by JOHN Pound.

Although beggars can't be choosers, the Low-Life LOLA character is still questioning the condition of her hand out, served on a platter/plate, no less. Squashed equals an item that is flat and out of shape, as a result of being crushed or squeezed with force. The nicer side of Split KIT answered the trapped victim's needs by bringing them food, but the meaner side of Split KIT misinterpreted 'Step on it!', in the literal sense, rather than the metaphorical. The phrase, "step on it" is an idiomatic expression that means to hurry up or go faster, usually used in the context of driving (putting the pedal to the metal), rather than actually stepping or stomping on something.

Card No. 473 — Artwork & Card Type by JAY LYNCH — Assisted by GARY WHITNEY & GRASS GREEN
Featuring OS4 & OS6 GPK Characters by TOM BUNK + 'FLICK IT!' OS4 Artwork by RICHARD MCGUIRE
NOTE: 'FLICK IT!' PANELS #6 & #5, FOR CARDS 473a & 473b, RESPECTIVELY

The comic back for OS12 reverse card 473a Heavy MERYL & 473b One-Night STAN, by JOHN Pound, features OS4 character artwork for cards 141a ASHLEY Can & 141b GRETA Garbage, originally created by TOM Bunk, and OS6 character artwork for cards 343a Con VIC & 343b AL Catraz, originally created by TOM Bunk, plus 'FLICK IT!' panels #6 and #5, respectively, created by Richard McGuire, featuring OS4 character artwork for cards 132a Bony TONY & 132b Unzipped ZACK, originally created by JOHN Pound.

Within the short exchange between the homeless character, ASHLEY Can, and the prison inmate, Con VIC, the word 'wanted' is misinterpreted for the words 'want ad'. 'Wanted', as an adjective, means being searched for by the police due to a crime, a wanted man. Remeniscent of the Old West, instead of 'WANTED' posters being plasters on walls, etcetera, as a form of circulation, current trends have the information printed in newspaper or displayed on TV, or even before it hits the public conscience within the FBI. A 'Want ad' is a classified advert(isement) in a newspaper or magazine, a small ad for something that is wanted. Not necessarily looking for two armed robbers for larceny.

Card No. 477 + 497 — Artwork & Card Type by JAY LYNCH — Assisted by GARY WHITNEY & GRASS GREEN
Featuring OS1 GPK Characters by JOHN POUND + 'FLICK IT!' OS1 Artwork by RICHARD MCGUIRE
NOTE: 'FLICK IT!' PANELS #26 & #25 + #40 & #39, FOR CARDS 477a & 477b + 497a & 497b, RESPECTIVELY

The comic back for OS12 reverse card 477a INGRID Inc. & 477b Smokestack ZACH, by JOHN Pound, and 497a Lame LEM & 497b EDWARD Hopper, by JAMES Warhola, features OS1 character artwork for cards 26a Slobby ROBBIE & 26b Fat MATT and character artwork for cards 35a Wrinkly RANDY & 35b Rockin' ROBERT, both originally created by JOHN Pound, plus 'FLICK IT!' panels #26 and #25 + #40 & #39, respectively, created by Richard McGuire, featuring OS1 character artwork for cards 8a ADAM Bomb & 8b Blasted BILLY, originally created by JOHN Pound.

The angry café patron, Slobby ROBBIE, is upset with how the waiter messed up his order, declaring, "I ordered fried RICE!", and apparently not fried mice. Retirement must've been too boring for Wrinkly RANDY who's jumped out of his rocker and back into the workforce, holding a pad of paper & pencil rather than his cane. Due to RANDY's advanced age, his hearing may not be up-to-scratch. This is the second appearance by ROBBIE in The Garbage Gang single panel comics, but this time, the restaurant must've had a "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service" sign outside. Note: Lynch placed a little pig label on the character's non-Lacoste (alligator/crocodile) shirt, signifying his appetite and personality.

Card No. 480 — Artwork & Card Type by JAY LYNCH — Assisted by GARY WHITNEY & GRASS GREEN
Featuring OS4 & OS6 GPK Characters by POUND & BUNK + 'FLICK IT!' OS1 Artwork by RICHARD MCGUIRE
NOTE: 'FLICK IT!' PANELS #30 & #29, FOR CARDS 480a & 480b, RESPECTIVELY

The comic back for OS12 reverse card 480a ROBBY Rubbish & 480b Garbage Pail KITTY, by JOHN Pound, features OS4 character artwork for cards 162a Yicchy MICKEY & 162b Barfin' BART, originally created by JOHN Pound, and OS6 character artwork for cards 215a Gnawing NORA & 215b Nervous NELLIE, originally created by TOM Bunk, plus 'FLICK IT!' panels #30 and #29, respectively, created by Richard McGuire, featuring OS1 character artwork for cards 8a ADAM Bomb & 8b Blasted BILLY, originally created by JOHN Pound. NOTE: the OS4 character artwork for 135a ROCK E. Horror & 135b MARTY Gras, by JOHN Pound, has the same tattoo on the same arm (w/o 'MOM'), so could be out of drag.

The artwork depicts a scenario of Barfin' BART, looking spiffy in his tuxedo, and Nervous NELLIE, looking pretty in her trademark purple dress, having invited another GPKid over for dinner. Perhaps they had mentioned dinner would be informal and "...not to dress UP for dinner", where it was obviously misunderstood. Dressing up for dinner usually means formal wear, whereas, "NOT to dress" would mean no clothing or attire at all, but thankfully the guest is sporting a diaper. The individual is a bit rougher in nature, having a 'MOM' sailor tattoo, smoking a cigarette, and being unshaven and showing facial stubble.

Card No. 481 — Artwork & Card Type by JAY LYNCH — Assisted by GARY WHITNEY & GRASS GREEN
Featuring OS2 & OS6 GPK Characters by JOHN POUND + 'FLICK IT!' OS1 Artwork by RICHARD MCGUIRE
NOTE: 'FLICK IT!' PANELS #34 & #33, FOR CARDS 481a & 481b, RESPECTIVELY
NOTE: CARD 481 ALSO CONTAIN COMPLETED PUZZLE PREVIEW BACKS

The comic back for OS12 reverse card 481a Car-Stick KARLA & 481b Cruisin' SUSAN, by JOHN Pound, features OS2 character artwork for cards 76a BONNIE Bunny & 76b Pourin' LAUREN and OS6 character artwork for cards 239a JERRY Atric & 239b ABRAHAM Wrinklin', both originally created by JOHN Pound, plus 'FLICK IT!' panels #34 and #33, respectively, created by Richard McGuire, featuring OS1 character artwork for cards 8a ADAM Bomb & 8b Blasted BILLY, originally created by JOHN Pound.

The older patron, JERRY Atric, is very concerned that the waitress, BONNIE Bunny, has her thumb digit in his ordered soup. Warmth may be good for cleaning any wound (unless bacteria is concerned), but BONNIE should be able to tell if any wound is infected if there's increasing pain, swelling, and redness, however, I'm not sure this is pass proper health & safety codes by the employee, and a potential health concern for the patron. This is BONNIE's second appearance as waitstaff for The Garbage Gang comics, the setting makes for easy comedic interactions.

Card No. 483 + 489 — Artwork & Card Type by JAY LYNCH — Assisted by GARY WHITNEY & GRASS GREEN
Featuring OS5 & OS7 GPK Characters by JOHN POUND + 'FLICK IT!' OS1 Artwork by RICHARD MCGUIRE
NOTE: 'FLICK IT!' PANELS #32 & #31 + #18 & #17, FOR CARDS 483a & 483b + 489a & 489b, RESPECTIVELY

The comic back for OS12 reverse card 483a Seedy SYDNEY & 483b Fertile MYRTLE and 489a Irate IRA & 489b Angry ANNIE, both by JOHN Pound, features OS5 character artwork for cards 170a RICHIE Retch & 170b LUKE Puke and OS7 character artwork for cards 251a Barfin' BARBARA & 251b VALERIE Vomit, both originally created by JOHN Pound, plus 'FLICK IT!' panels #32 & #31, plus #18 & #17, respectively, created by Richard McGuire, featuring OS1 character artwork for cards 8a ADAM Bomb & 8b Blasted BILLY and OS4 character artwork for cards 132a Bony TONY & 132b Unzipped ZACK, both originally created by JOHN Pound.

The same projectile vomiters can also be seen with The Garbage Gang comic for card 469, but both characters were hanging over, and barfing over, the side of a boat, instead of standing inside of a building. VALERIE mentions having been barfing for three hours straight, and RICHIE mentions starting back up again after lunch, so one would assume that the three hours of contents belong to breakfast, the next three hours would then belong to lunch, and if they kept going, they'd eventually take a dinner break with another three hours of puking. BTW, VALERIE also makes quite a few appearances in these panel comics.

Card No. 484 — Artwork & Card Type by JAY LYNCH — Assisted by GARY WHITNEY & GRASS GREEN
Featuring OS5, OS6 & OS9 GPK Characters by POUND & BUNK + 'FLICK IT!' OS1 Artwork by RICHARD MCGUIRE
NOTE: 'FLICK IT!' PANELS #22 & #21, FOR CARDS 484a & 484b, RESPECTIVELY

The comic back for OS12 reverse card 484a TIM Can & 484b RUSTY Bolts, by JOHN Pound, features OS5 character artwork for cards 198a Gore MAY & 198b CONNIE Sewer, originally by JOHN Pound, OS6 character artwork for cards 215a Gnawing NORA & 215b Nervous NELLIE, originally created by TOM Bunk, and OS9 character artwork for cards 355a Beasty BOYD & 355b Semi COLIN, originally created by JOHN Pound, plus 'FLICK IT!' panels #22 and #21, respectively, created by Richard McGuire, featuring OS1 character artwork for cards 8a ADAM Bomb & 8b Blasted BILLY, originally created by JOHN Pound.

The comic panel shows a usually panic-strickened Nervous NELLIE being very assertive, considering her little brother has been replaced with another infant child... a girl, so now NELLIE has a little sister instead. Since Semi COLIN apparently took her little brother out for a 'walk', highly suggests her brother was older and walking, and COLIN replaced him with a baby in a stroller, which may have looked more fun. COLIN's response of 'newer clothes' feels very random and like a weak excuse, especially since the CONNIE Sewer character is basically only wearing a diaper and a bib w/ bow.

Card No. 486 — Artwork & Card Type by JAY LYNCH — Assisted by GARY WHITNEY & GRASS GREEN
Featuring OS2 & OS6 GPK Characters by JOHN POUND + 'FLICK IT!' OS4 Artwork by RICHARD MCGUIRE
NOTE: 'FLICK IT!' PANELS #2 & #1, FOR CARDS 486a & 486b, RESPECTIVELY

The comic back for OS12 reverse card 486a Chiseler CHAD & 486b JULIUS Sneezer, by JAMES Warhola, features OS2 character artwork for cards 52a Dirty HARRY & 52b ROB Slob, originally by JOHN Pound, and OS6 character artwork for cards 235a Ugly HANS & 235b JAN Hand, originally created by JOHN Pound, plus 'FLICK IT!' panels #2 and #1, respectively, created by Richard McGuire, featuring OS4 character artwork for cards 132a Bony TONY & 132b Unzipped ZACK, originally created by JOHN Pound.

As is typical with Lynch comics, both characters are rather grumpy and rude, instead of smiling, in comparison with their card images. Usually referred to as a 'hand puppet', the made-up 'fistface' word is quite humorous, especially considering it's hard enough to make the face 'talk', let alone make a mean-spirited facial dirty look. Ugly HANS' response of Dirty HARRY having a 'dirty look' all of his life tracks, considering he lives a dirty lifestyle in a pigpen/pigsty.

Card No. 491 — Artwork & Card Type by JAY LYNCH — Assisted by GARY WHITNEY & GRASS GREEN
Featuring OS3 & OS6 GPK Characters by JOHN POUND + 'FLICK IT!' OS4 Artwork by RICHARD MCGUIRE
NOTE: 'FLICK IT!' PANELS #4 & #3, FOR CARDS 491a & 491b, RESPECTIVELY

The comic back for OS12 reverse card 491a Sunken TREVOR & 491b Anchored HANK, by JAMES Warhola, features OS3 character artwork for cards 84a JOE Blow & 84b ROD Wad, originally by JOHN Pound, and OS6 character artwork for cards 223a LOLLY Poppy & 223b LILY Popped, originally created by TOM Bunk, plus 'FLICK IT!' panels #4 and #3, respectively, created by Richard McGuire, featuring OS4 character artwork for cards 132a Bony TONY & 132b Unzipped ZACK, originally created by JOHN Pound.

Perhaps the wordiest of the OS12 panel comics... the concerned JOE Blow has called 'the doctor', but I speculate that a doctor, even in the 80s, would be making personal house calls and home visits... JOE most likely called 911 emergency line or something similar to have an ambulance and/or paramedics get to the scene. Although JOE was scared that the now unbothered LOLLY Poppy was screaming due to the lollipop having been lodged in her throat, but rather, her only concern was not having one to suck on and quickly found a replacement.

NOTE: 'FLICK IT!' PANELS #16 & #15, FOR CARDS 493a & 493b, RESPECTIVELY

The comic back for OS12 reverse card 493a Peanut Butter 'N KELLY & 493b Out-To-Lunch LANCE, by JOHN Pound, features OS3 character artwork for cards 84a JOE Blow & 84b ROD Wad, originally by JOHN Pound, and OS6 character artwork for cards 207a Over FLO & 207b Moist JOYCE, originally created by JOHN Pound, plus 'FLICK IT!' panels #16 and #15, respectively, created by Richard McGuire, featuring OS4 character artwork for cards 132a Bony TONY & 132b Unzipped ZACK, originally created by JOHN Pound.

With JOE Blow's first comic panel appearance, we didn't get to see his 'Bazooka Gum' t-shirt, but it's on full display this time, minus the extra colours. The assumed reason Moist JOYCE skipped the letter 'P', while reciting the alphabet, is because instead of saying 'P' she actually 'p'eed—in a very literal sense. Naturally, 'pee' is a verb to unrinate, where the noun 'urine' is a watery, typically yellowish fluid stored in the bladder and discharged through the urethra. Compared to the original card artwork, the urine is very concentrated this go round.

Card No. 498 — Artwork & Card Type by JAY LYNCH — Assisted by GARY WHITNEY & GRASS GREEN

The comic back for OS12 reverse card 498a Rolls ROYCE & 498b Piston PETE, by JOHN Pound, features OS2 character artwork for cards 45a Leaky LINDSAY & 45b Messy TESSIE, originally by JOHN Pound, and OS9 character artwork for cards 352a HERMAN Hormone & 352b Turned-On RON, originally created by TOM Bunk, plus 'FLICK IT!' panels #10 and #9, respectively, created by Richard McGuire, featuring OS4 character artwork for cards 132a Bony TONY & 132b Unzipped ZACK, originally created by JOHN Pound.

The Leaky LINDSAY character is seen sporting a pageant sash titled 'MISS DEMEANOR', where 'demeanor' is the outward behaviour or bearing—how someone presents themselves to others, which includes their actions, tone of voice, facial expressions, body language, etcetera. HERMAN Hormone, who's very excited to be in close encounter with a swimsuit-clad LINDSAY, is heard asking who had won the beauty contest, and the answer is 'NOBODY'. Meaning, not one participant was beautiful, suggesting, all of them were gross. They ARE GPK.

The Barfin' BART character is pictured as a clean patron, and not shoveling questionable food and garbage down his gullet just yet. Ordering a bowl full of pigs' eyeballs floating in dog saliva isn't out-of-character for him, but it would definitely seem very disgusting to BONNIE Bunny, seen as a waitress instead of a hostess, within a restaurant setting this time. Nutmeg is a hard, aromatic, sphere-like tropical tree seed, which is grated up and used as a spice in cooking and baking, often combined with cinnamon and added to desserts. Naturally, due to BART's disgustingly distinctive taste pallet, nutmeg would be too 'gross' for him.
