All three humor sets poking fun at the Transformers, Horror movie genre and the Star Wars franchises, respectively.

2
. An early Preview mock-up card image was posted to social media on September 1, 2017 to give collectors an idea of what was to come for the upcoming Star Warped Kids 9-card set. Although the artwork and nomenclature remained the same, the die-cut was changed to incorporate the new logo or SWK header, the nameplate was switched-up for a different shape and the card number became 9a B.O. JUAN (Star Wars Obi-Wan), switched from 6a.

3
. Starting in mid to late October, the Magic Marker Art social media pages started to show partial glimpses of the impending parody release with a few Color Rough sneak peeks. On October 17, 2017 the first Star Warped Kids color rough was previewed portraying a parody of the Star Wars 'R2-D2' character and on October 23, 2017 a second color rough was previewed portraying a parody of the Star Wars 'Princess Leia' character.

. The promotional material in the form of an e-Sheet acted as an online ad for the Star Warped Kids Series 1 on social media on November 1, 2017 that portrayed the three previously previewed characters. The second preview ad is usually posted on the release date with the tagline 'NOW AVAILABLE', but not for this release. The 'opening crawl' and scrolling yellow text is a nod to the opening sequence of Star Wars movies that give you an idea of the plot and the metallic outline connecting the logo is a nod to retro Star Wars cards and packaging.

. The Magic Marker Art social media pages displayed an out-of-focus image of the card set and the circular sticker used for the Star Warped Kids packs on November 9, 2017 and an image of the packaged SWK packs showcasing a new character, 1a C3P OWEN, on November 14, 2017 which was used as the picture link for the sale of the set at $35 on the website; a decent price tag for the set when considering an independent release, vinyl material, die-cuts and a small profit. The circular sticker seen in the bottom left hand corner seals the protective wrap on the backside of the "pack".

1
. Starting in August, Magic Marker Art took to social media on August 2, 2019 to post a Color Rough sneak peek of the upcoming release of Star Warped Kids Series 2, portraying a parody of the Star Wars 'IG-88' bounty hunter character and placing a placid smile on the assassin droid's metal head.

2
. An early Preview mock-up card image was posted to social media on October 9, 2019 and gave collectors an idea of what was to come for the new card layout for the Star Warped Kids brand. Not only would SWK Series 2 have a new yellow and black logo, replacing the 'metallic' white or black logo, and getting rid of the die-cut border, but the Series 1 reprint would also go through these changes; this opens up the card image a bit more and lets the character 'breathe'. The nameplate for card #7 would be updated from white to black.

~

3
. The Series 1 reprint and Series 2 set of Star Warped Kids was released on November 4, 2019 and posted to the Magic Marker Art website and sold for $25 each. 5. A Card Comparison of a Series 1 image of B.O. JUAN, an early mock-up card image — the nameplate area would be squared off, and a Series 2 image of B.O. JUAN, taken from a Non-Sport Update write-up, shows that not only would SWK Series 2 have a new yellow and black logo, replacing the 'metallic' white or black logo, but also do away with the thick, die-cut border — a shout-out to the vintage, toy figure packaging; this opens up the card image a bit more and lets the character 'breathe'.

~

~
~

6. For the bi-monthly publication of Non-Sport Update, a write-up for the Star Warped Kids would be printed within the December 2019 / January 2020 issue, for Volume 30, No. 6., where creator Mark Pingitore states "Series 2 will parody lovable County Hunters and cuddly Aliens!" Nice to see the Magic Marker Art brands in print.
