Origin of Lantern Festival

Long long time ago, there was this bird from heaven lost its way and got killed by human. When the Emperor of the Heaven knew about it, he was so angry and order the soldiers to the mortal and burn all everyone on the 15th day of the first month. The princess was a very kind heart goddess, she went to the mortal and tell the people about this news.

When people heard the news, they were so shock and frighten. And finally an old man came up with a solution:

Lets hang up all the lanterns, burn the firecrackers on the 14th, 15th and 16th day then the god will think everybody are burned. On 15th, when the soldiers went down from the heaven and sawthe land was all red. They thought the land was on fire, so they report the emperor that its not necessary to set a fire anymore.

So, people had saved their lives and properties. Since then, on 15th day of the first month everybody will celebrate by hanging lanterns around.
