Oh, Danny Boy,
I invite and would appreciate letters from those who may have more information about my ancestors. My mother Bertha Louise Nugent was born December 5, 1886 in London, Indiana and passed away on March 17, 1971.
Her father William Nugent was from Kentucky, her mother Mary Deal was born in Jackson County, Illinois, near the site of the Cahokia Mounds, the ancestral lands of many Shawnee people. Her sisters were Biney, Gertrude, Ola and Rhoda. My mother was a nurse for many years of her life.
My father Frank Phillip Weintraut was born April 21, 1885 in Shelbyville, Indiana and passed away on January 24, 1960.
His parents were John Henry and Mary Thibow Weintraut, whose ancestors came to this country from Prussia, by way of the Pennsylvania Dutch country.
John and Mary lived on the Waldron family farm in Indiana and had twelve children, including: Arthur, Bernard, Clara, Clarence, Charlie, Earl, Harry, Linnie, Marie, Mathias, Willie and my father Frank.
My father was an excellent carpenter and carpet layer most of his life.
He attended St. Joseph's church in Shelbyville and St. Phillip's church in Indianapolis. My father and mother had three children together, my sister Wanda Ballinger and my brother Frank Dale Weintraut, who are both now deceased and me.
My mother married William Wright on December 8, 1905 in Shelbyville, Indiana and they had 15 children together before he died. There were 18 of us altogether.
This Wright side of my family includes: my brothers Carl, Harold, Herman, Leslie, Orville and my sisters Gertrude, Marie and Violet, who are all deceased. My oldest sister Grace died when I was very young, her son Billy Hanson who lived for many years in Minnesota, is now in South Carolina. My sister Wanda Ballinger

During the 1940's my parents lived in Cincinnati, Ohio and worked at the Bullard's Department store.
