In writting this strategy, I did a demonstration play with weapon type 5 (the G4A) in the Hi-Score Try mode on PlayStation2. This is hard for me to concentrate on the play because I paused the game frequently to capture screen shots. Though this is not a prefect play, this game did showed most of my well developed personal techniques in GRADIUS IV.
Vertical Mine is chosen for the demonstration in this strategy because:
Vertical Mine is the weapon type I played with the longest time and best managed in G4, up to now;
I found that Vertical Mine is of very powerful and quite easy to manage, it also has a large range of shot, situable to use for both beginners and experts;
Both G4A and G4B belongs to the most powerful weapons in GRADIUS IV.
There are actually many methods in winning the battles of Gradius. Those methods mentioned in this strategy are not the only way to fight against the amoeboid Bacterian. This strategy belongs to my best personal invented tactics, the ultimate strategy of mine.
Please notice that you may not able to beat the game immediately after reading this strategy. The main key to win the battles is practice. Have enough practice, you may even invent tactics better than mine. If you did, don't forget to let me know. Good luck and remember to keep deposit coins into the GRADIUS IV machines !
