Bondwell B310

A bit of personal stuff:
O.K. First of all, the computer in the pictures is NOT the one I have. The one in the pictures is the B310plus. Basically, the only difference between the two, is that mine has the reflective screen instead of the backlit screen. Other than that, they're identical.
On boot-up, it lets you choose between using the LCD or an external RGB by pressing either F1 or F2. After about 5 or 10 seconds, it will boot with the LCD if no key is pressed. The only problem (at least on mine) is that the contrast slider is bad, and the entire screen turns blue unless the slider is pushed down REAL hard, then moved, and then taped down. The boot-up screen also says "Bondwell B310 Super-Slim high-speed laptop". In the standards of 1990, I guess this is fairly valid, since Toshiba was still selling 8088 640k laptops with DOS in a ROM, and only one floppy in 1991 for about the same price this one was.
I'd say this computer is fairly durable, since it was fairly beat-up when I got it (case scratched up, LCD hinge cracked, one LCD latch missing, floppy drive replaced, and case cut out to fit button of new drive). It worked perfectly for about a year, until I dropped it a while ago. Everything still works, except the right half of the LCD. I took it apart, and it wasn't the LCD that was cracked, it was the LCD controller chips. the chips are glued to the glass LCD by thier traces. The traces on the chips on the right half had all broken, and no longer making contact. Time for a new LCD....
If any one has a spare LCD for either the B310, or the B310plus (SHARP LM64032) that they wouldn't mind parting with, drop me a line at: general1@moonshinehollow.com
