How do I dial?

To place a Web Based Call, even a domestic call:

1) Dial numbers only: that means, do not add in any spaces, dashes or symbols
Simply type in the Country code + area code* + local number.

2) Do NOT dial your international access code (e.g., 011 or 00) before the number. That means, that if you are located in the United States, you do not need to put the 011 before the number.

3)*If the area code begins with zero, omit the zero (e.g., for '09' dial only '9').

EXAMPLES:
     441712221234(UK)
     12025551234(US)

*For dialing Moscow, include the zero in the area code. Dial 7095 then the number.

How to Dial:
1. Enter the phone number.
2. Click 'CALL' to place a call.

If you would like to place another call, simply press ‘Hangup’ and then ‘Make Another Call?”

General Troubleshooting
  • If you have iConnectHere PC-to-Phone on your computer, be sure it is closed before starting to make a Web Based Call.
  • Be sure you are using the correct number format when dialing. Click here for dialing instructions.
  • Please be sure that your account is properly funded for the call you are attempting to make.

  • I did something wrong during the installation. Now what do I do?

You can completely uninstall the Web Based Calling plug-ins by following these steps:

    1. Close all your browser windows.
    2. Go to Control Panel=>Add/Remove Programs and remove Phone Doubler Quick Call Plugin

    3. If you are using Netscape 4.6 (or above):

    4. Go to Edit/Preferences/Advanced/Smartupdate. Highlight 'Phone Doubler' quick call plug-in and click 'Uninstall'.

    5. If you are using an earlier version of Netscape:

    6. Go to Program Files/Netscape/Communicator/Program/Plugins. If you find nppdqc.dll or nppdqcl.dll, delete it. (Check the Netscape directory on ALL drives and do the same).
The next time you try to make a Web Based Call, you will be prompted to install the plug-in again.

Be sure to wait for the security certificate to load completely, then allow the plug-in to install. Only then should you proceed to the next screen.

I see an uninstalled plug-in (an empty frame with only a small box in the upper left corner). What do I do?

Please download the manual installation package for the plug in. Run the program from the current location, or save it (remember where you save it!) and run it afterwards. Shut down and then reopen you browser.

The blue frame under the iConnectHere logo is completely blank. What do I do?

Your security settings may be set to block any external plug-ins from running on your browser. Reset your security settings by going to Tools -> Internet Options -> Security and setting the security level to medium for the Internet zone.

Low Security Level: The software will install automatically without prompting you to take action.

Medium Security Level: You will be prompted to allow the software to install.

High Security Level: The software will not install and you may get a message from your browser to that effect. In this case, you can install the software manually by downloading and running a separate program.

If the automatic installation failed, please manually install.

I see the dialpad but the call does not connect. What do I do?

Setting up Microphone & Speakers, Headset or Handset

The first time you make a Web Based Call you will need to ensure that your microphone and speakers (or head/handset unit) are connected correctly. While the user guide supplied with your sound card is the best reference, we offer the following guidelines.

  • Connect your microphone to the 'Microphone In' jack. Sometimes this is indicated by a small microphone icon
  • Connect headphones or non-powered speakers to 'Speaker Out'.
  • Connect powered speakers to the 'Line Out' if available, if not connect to 'Speaker Out'.
The difference between 'Speaker Out' and 'Line Out' is that 'Speaker Out' is
an amplified signal while 'Line Out' is not.

Sound Settings

To access the Web Based Call sound mixer, click 'Mixer' from the bottom of the dial pad window.

To adjust your settings, speak into the microphone during a call and use the sliding controls to increase or decrease volume.

The sound coming from the speakers should be loud enough for you to hear and the microphone settings should be adjusted so there is no noticeable background noise.

Experiment with different settings until the sound is clear and of sufficient volume.
