Asma Kibria:

Asma Kibria was fortunate to have the opportunity to study painting and art in a number of countries.  Her professional training in painting commenced in 1962 with a three-year stint at an art school in New York headed by Peter Baboux and she continued her studies in painting at the renowned Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. in 1970.  She paints in oil and acrylic paints, but has found the versatility of the acrylic medium especially suited to her style.

She has held ten solo exhibitions of her works at home and abroad.  Her latest paintings demonstrate her maturity as an artist and clarity of expression, featuring the lustrous depth and subtle interplay of light and shadow that have become the hallmarks of her unique style.
