After she and Michael were off of "All My Children", they moved their family out to Los Angeles. Once there Hunter managed to beat out numerous actresses for the role of Marina Toscano on the soap "Days of Our Lives." This role turned out to be a less than enjoyable one for Hunter. She recieved a lot of hate mail for her character interfering in the the lives of the show's resident super couple, Patch and Kayla. After like half a year she was let go and was probably more grateful than sad. Though out of a job, Hunter was not exactly sitting at home moping.

She took up more college courses and wound up doing quite a few commercials. Then in 1990 she caught the eye of Bell Sr. and she auditioned for the role of a doctor on his new soap "The Bold and the Beautiful". She then got the role of Dr. Taylor Hayes, and loved playing the role of a doctor on the soap. When she accepted the role of Taylor Hunter Tylo's career took off. She did even more commercials, including those for products by Revlon cosmetics and Pantene. She would play the role continuously until 1994, when she got the role in a mini-series that would be shot overseas. In Maharajah's Daughter she played the lead role of Messua Shandar an Indian Princess.

The project took a long 17 weeks to complete and she had to leave B&B to do it. It was at this time that she endured the near break up of her marriage, as she and her husband decided to separate. Although professionally her career was prospering-personally her life was falling apart.

However after returning to the states she attended marriage counseling and her marriage was saved. She also became a devout Christian at this time. Instead of things falling apart totally, things feel back into place. She and her husband even discussed having another child. She and her husband found out they were expecting another child right around the time Hunter recieved the news she got the part on MELROSE PLACE. But when the producers found this news, they fired Hunter before she even taped a scene-and in spite of her having previously worked for the Spelling Company not once but twice. Upset, Hunter obtained legal advice and was fortunate to ave notable femininst attorney Gloria Allred to represent her in a lawsuit of discrimination. During a trial that made national and international headlines, and lasted weeks, Hunter ended up winning nearly a $5 million dollars. She has said she nearly fell off her chair when SHE heard the amount awarded.

A greatful Hunter then decided to donate some of her money to upstarting her own Charity called HUNTER'S CHOSEN CHILD that aides pregnant women and families in need of such things as daycare scholarships and such. Following the trial Hunter had her fourth child and not longer after her birth Hunter was told the baby had eye cancer. The entire family was truly devastated. Somehow instead of wallowing in her own grief and pain, Hunter reached out to educate other families on this once unfamiliar cancer. She worked hard to get the word out on the disease and gave her own time and money to help out with fundraisers with Retinoblastoma with other families affected by the disease like fellow soap actor Matt Ashford.

In March 2000 Hunter's long awaited, much talked-about biography hit the bookstores. In the book Hunter tells of how fame can nearly ruin your if you are not careful to remember what was instilled in you by your parents, and the dangers of relying on alcohol to soothe away inner pain. The book wound up becoming a hit with many people, and some could relate to much of what she wrote, as it had occurred in their own lives. "Making A Miracle" eventually hit the NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLERS LIST< as people picked up the book that has been descibed by readers as "As addictive as chocolate" and "gripping and powerful, hard to put down."

This year as Hunter looks toward the future, this unstoppable woman looks forward to taking on new projects. One of them is collaborating with her husband Michael, to play the role of Loretta Young in a movie. Hunter is also launching her very own skin care line named CHOSEN, which can be found on line Here. She is one woman that proves that one has to make the best out of ALL situations in their-lives both good and bad, and that every goal you set for yourself is achieveable if you envision it and try to reach it without hesitation.
