"Ma's Gingerbread Recipe"




Preheat oven to 375°F.

Cream the butter and sugar. Combine the molasses with the boiling water and baking soda. Allow to cool. Then add to the butter which has been creamed with the sugar. Add the salt,ginger,cinnamon. Beat well. Add beaten egg and the flour which has been sifted with the baking powder. Have the batter very thin if not thin add a little milk. So it runs off the spoon in ribbons. Pour into 2 well greased 11x7x1_1/2 baking pan and in a moderately hot oven 375°F. for 20 min. Then reduce temp. to 300°F. and bake for an additional 20 min. Enjoy!
