| Dee Smart, the new female lead of Water Rats, revealed her svelte new form at a drinks party to launch the new series of the TV drama. Fellow cast members say Smart, who has replaced the willowy Cath- rine McClements in the series, has been battling to shift unwanted kilos following comments by executives that she had put on too much weight. Promotional photos for the new series, depicting a healthy looking Smart in knee-length skirt and jacket, were frowned upon by chubby TV bosses and Smart began a campaign to slim down. Looking every bit the glamorous starlet at Wednesday's function, she displayed her newly trim form in a figure-hugging red dress as she posed with husband Chris Hancock.
