Okay, where to start. Well here's a picture of me anyway.

This is how I normally look, although I'm a bit different on stage.

Very early on I was diagnosed with A.D.D, and told that I would never ride a bike, play an instrument or play a team sport. Well I have proven them horribly wrong on all counts. I learnt to ride a bike the same time as everyone else, I played cricket and soccer for many years, and of course I played an instrument. Well, several actually. I started with a year on recorder, which I hated, then moved to clarinet, which I still play to this day. 3 years later I took up the saxophone, and 2 years after that took up the guitar, with singing coming 6 months later.

As far as how I got into the whole metal scene, well I used to listen to Queen, and then heard Korn. I guess things took off from there. Ever since I was 11, I have been listening to metal. 2 years later I heard Cradle of Filth, who introduced me to a whole different world of music. Dark and haunting, yet intelligent and stangely it made so much sense to me. After this I diversified and listened to lots of Slipknot and Cannibal Corpse. After years of listening to heavy and death metal I finally came back to my true love - black metal- when I heard Emperor. They changed the way I thought about music, and appealed to me so much.

So, I hear you ask, when did the whole band thing come into this? Well the band was originally the brainchild of myself and two mates. Our then drummer doesn't even need to be mentioned, but our guitarist at the time was Martin Robinson, who now plays drums for us. I was playing bass, and some friends (The two Daniels) were roped in to cover the other guitar part and singing. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I switched to guitar, Martin shifted to drums, and a few new friends were brought in forming a band that played extremely primitive heavy metal. However another drummer was found and martin switched to cover the other guitar part. But once again, this didn't last and Martin left the band after a disagreement and Maleik came into play guitar. The band stayed this way for 1 year. One day for a bit of fun, I started growling and look! I'm still there! However, after Rockquest this year, two bands (Vena Carva and Spunj Puppetz) joined to get the current lineup, reuniting 2 of the 3 founding members with 1 of the 2 Daniels and Maleik.

So I guess that's my story. As for where my inspiration comes from for my lyrics - it all comes from God (I am a proud Christian and my hate for normality and society the way it is. Obviously my lyrics also contain mentions of love, betrayal as well, but I also have hope for the future, and most of my songs resolve themselves.
